I just heard Obama talking. When he said 'you put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig, you wrap a fish in a nice wrapper and it still stinks' he was clearly and absolutely talking about McCain's recycling W's policies. It had nothing to do with Sarah 'the pitbull (pig, snake)' Palin. I dare anyone to post the exact quote of what Obama said and then interpret it in ways that implies that Obama calls Pain (the pig) a pig. In other news, Ron Paul said if anyone who supported him and is now thinking about voting for McCain, he must be a moron.

More to the point, I'm afraid of another 8 years of hell. There has not been a more destructive president that I can remember than Bush. McCain promises to be much worse.

Whatever... I am not concerned with crowds reactions. The FACT is that Obama did NOT call Palin a pig. The other fact is that the McCains are acting outraged at Obama's calling Palin a pig. They are attacking Obama not..., Obama's supporters. They lie.

Yesterday he was down by as much as 15 points among independents. Down 10 for white women. He had carried both of those groups. Show me a poll that changed since yesterday. I don't believe you.
I am afraid of a few things but this is not one of them. From 'day one' I noted that McCain is using Palin as a prop and that Palin is cooperating. Do you need more explanations?

Anyone would have to admit that his choosing her has been a huge help. How long it stands up, who knows, and for me at least the larger story is the socialization of FMae and FMac. Neither McCain nor Obama have bothered to talk about the real problems the nation faces, but choose to discuss lip stick instead. We're very screwed regardless who wins.

Good point that we aren't talking about serious issues. On another point. I have a good reason to vote for mccain/PALIN. She drives the libs absolutely batty. Watching them crack up is quite entertaining. Maybe it isn't a good reason, but it would be very entertaining. Also it would at least screw up what was known as feminism. It would redefine it to something better.
Beauty pageant pap has nothing to do with the fact that, whether intentional or not, Obama led his audience to a conclusion and when they took it he didn't do anything to dissuade them. Either that was where he wanted them to go or he didn't know how since it wasn't on his teleprompter.
And what Obama didn't do has nothing to do with what the GOPs are accusing him on doing - which is calling Palin a pig.

Doesn't matter whether it is McCain or Obama--either of them will be worse and that is hard to believe. But just look at how much worse Bush has been than Clinton and most of us never thought we would ever live long enough to see anything worse than Clinton in the White House. Thank you. It was hard for me to believe but one of the guys I went to school with--and I mean from first grade all the way through high school--has a huge Obama sign up on his deck. I know his dad is probably spinning in his grave and I thought my friend was smart enough to know that there wasn't any difference in them.

I agree with you. I feel the use of the commonly used phrase "...lipstick on a pig" was linked to SP because of the word "lipstick" being a feminine word, unless you consider someone like Rudy Guilliani.

Bush's old man was terrible and I don't think you would get much argument about that even from a lot of hard core R's. Clinton was about as bad, maybe a little worse. Bush Jr. has been a nightmare, even worse than Clinton. And it looks like no matter what happens the next one will be even worse than Dumbya. Who woulda thunk it? Well, I guess I would since it finally broke through to my consciousness that it gets worse every election and I have been knowing that for quite a while.

Obama's mantra: "The only reason not to like me is racism." Palin's mantra (didn't it used to be Hillary's) : "The only reason not to like me is sexism." Anyone can play the identity politics game and the victim card when there's nothing substantial to say.
I never heard Obama saying that, ever. He did say that he had a funny name and a funny face but he didn't mention racism. Same for Palin. She never said anything about sexism. She called herself a bitch with lipstick, I believe, but that was all she did.
