he story of a 15 year old boy in Lubbock, Texas in need of a liver transplant because of health complications relating to obesity is the latest case highlighting the need for parents to step up and teach their children healthy eating habits. We believe that parents have a responsibility to teach their children healthy eating habits. Raising your children on a meat-based diet that might lead them to the hospital or an early grave is child abuse, plain and simple. And that’s exactly the message on PETA’s new billboard we’re trying to run in Lubbock, Texas. The boy’s diet consisted of mostly burgers and pizza which (duh!) resulted in a fatty liver. This is not a health problem a child should ever have to face, but unfortunately, he’s not the only one. It is becoming a sickening sign of the adolescent obesity epidemic that some adolescents are requiring liver transplants due to their poor diets rich in fats. To help spotlight that vegetarianism is a key to overcoming obesity in children and parents’ responsibility in getting this message to their children, PETA’s billboard with the tagline, "Feeding kids meat is child abuse - Fight the fat - GoVeg.com." will hopefully be hitting Lubbock shortly. childabuse.JPG Many children who are fed a diet of saturated fat- and cholesterol-laden burgers, nuggets, and hot dogs show symptoms of heart disease by the time they reach first grade. Parents don’t need to be told that feeding their children such poor diets may be slowly killing them, its common sense. But they’re feeding it to them anyway. Child abuse. Plain and simple. You can make a case for bad meat (shot full of hormones/chemicals), but you CANNOT make a case for ALL meat being bad. Doctors will tell you to eat all the wild game you want: venison, elk, fish, fowl, it's ALL good for you. Wheat. Chaff. Learn to separate.
Doctors also used to also be on TV commercials for cigarettes. Killing animals is abuse. Feeding them to your children is child abuse.
Giving your kids nothing but vegetables is dangerous to their health. Parents who do that should have their kids taken away. Are you a child abuser? If you have kids and you push this "I watched animals on TV and they talk and are just like people" crap you should. You sound like the freaks that were protesting KFC a few months ago. They prompted me to turn around and get some KFC. Then I went and ate it in front of the little assholes. Meat it's whats for dinner.
