Of all items listed, only three have been discontinued. (highlighted in Yellow) All are listed, however, to show the absurdity of Watchtower rules and the absolute control leadership has over the lives of members once they join. 1. This is correct, according to the Bible. The idea of an immortal soul is from Babylon, and is not a Bible teaching. Jehovah is not evil, and it would take an evil entity to subject someone to eternal torment. Thus, it is not hard to understand that this flows from human thinking. Resurection and salvation is for eternal life here on this earth, or, the other side of that is 'cutting off;' end of existance. By the way, much of what is in this list is correct, although a lot of it is twisted. Quite frankly, I happen to like a lot of things in that list!!

I have covered this pretty throughly, but if anyone has any questions about anything in this list, please ask and I will set the record straight. Or, confirm what is written. For instance; They are forbidden to run for or hold a political office This is absolutely correct, and I agree completely! They are nuetral in all of the non-sense affairs of man. Most of you who have seen my posts have a pretty good idea of what I think of politics in general, and the waste of time and energy that goes into the BIG SHOW called national elections -- No matter who gets elected, nothing changes, ever. To state it in the manner that was used is to put a sexual innuendo into the statement.

Why aren't people content to have their own thoughts relating to religion or beliefs without constantly attempting to impose their particular brand or interpretation upon others. Zealots abound pushing their brand of godliness like dope ! In politics this is ridiculous enough, but in religious disputations it's far beyond ridiculous and enters the realm of frivolity and neurosis, what with Greek, Aramaic, Latin, Hebrew and an assortment of other languages that make a clear understanding near impossible. Self-appointed evangelists make wars appear pleasurable in comparison to a never ending debate about nonsensical dogmatic bullshit that only warps normal behavior into tyrannical shadow boxing with the INDISPUTABLE "facts", truthfully known only to the CREATOR. This is not to say that one should resist the study of one's existence, his/her creator and the point of it all ... they most definitely should make every effort in this worthwhile endevour, so much so that they have no time to offend the rest of the universe by causing a debate everytime they discover to themselves a new idea or concept that MUST BE SHARED BY EVERY MORTAL BEING ON EARTH !

God said to preach his word to the entire world. When someone is in error and genuinely seeking god. It is a Christians responsibility to try and correct them. Anyone is free to worship as they please. But if we really love our neighbor shouldn't we want to see them know the truth and not some undoctrinal crap. Actually the Bible is quite easy to understand. Just take it for what it says. Then pray about it. If you seek God you will find him. We don't have to know all those foreign languages to understand the word. God promised it would be translated for us. It has happened. We are blessed to have gods perfect word.

When the self-ordained zealot chases willing seekers of truth away ... has he accomplished anything ? I think not. And God, for lack of a better understood term, is made dependent upon man for a congregation ? I think not. Many warnings are given in opposition to forced/imposed conversion in scripture but few heed them. This type of thinking ultimately leads some to use force when the ability to persuade is lacking ... and this causes such abominations as the inquisition. I have tired of endless debates that result in little change ... I'd rather study scripture than argue about it.

Not only is there the question of whose interpretation of scripture is correct, but also why scripture should have any special authority other than blind faith and hearsay.
Some people will extract value from the scriptures and others won't. Each is entitled to whichever they achieve. The special authority you mention has stood as the foundation for the State of Israel. I'd say that was definitely an abuse of authority, special or otherwise.

This is an absolute lie. In the Bible, we are instructed to submit to those appointed to watch over us. To state it in the manner that was used is to put a sexual innuendo into the statement. richard, why state it is an absolute lie (as bolded in your retort), and then turn right around and say we're instructed to submit to those appointed to watch over us. That is not a lie, certainly not an absolute lie. Your complaint lies with what you take as a sexual innuendo, the thought behind the statement. Know what..........I'm a woman, and I didn't take that sentence to have any sexual meaning, though it could be a part of submission, I suppose, if one was thinking of submitting to one's husband.
No, that statement is not in condradiction to the Bible, and, I have been quoting to you from the King James Bible. As a matter of fact, I have 12 different translations of the Bible, and all of them are in harmony. Basically. As long as you do the reading and testing of your understanding when you find a Scripture. As to cutting all of the stuff about hell out of it, why would anyone do that? We are ordered not to change His Word. King James Bible; Romans 6:23; For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. When you die, you have paid for all of your sins, thanks to the sacriface of Jesus Christ. KJB; Romans 6:7; For he that is dead is freed from sin. Pretty simple, actually, and what it means is that Jehovah has no basis for sending someone to hell because of His mercy in sacrifacing His Son. A better translation of that verse is Romans 6:7; He who has died has been acquitted from his sin. Everywhere that you find damnation in the Bible, that is referring to the 'cutting off' when Jesus Christ returns and separates the sheep from the goats. I explained this pretty throughly in the post, "I Wonder." But you can find it in Matthew Chapter 25. Here is a good translation of Matthew 25:46 And these will depart into everlasting cutting-off, but the righteous ones into everlasting life. Some Bibles say punishment instead of cutting off, which is the second death forever, but the idea is the same. They are being 'damned' for not accepting Jehovah and Jesus Christ. You need to note that Jehovah is a God of Love, not pain and sorrow. He would not be capable, and I would not want Him for my God if He could, condemn someone to eternal torment. But let is see if I am wrong, by using the the KJB as a witness to see what Jehovah had to say about such practices; This is Jehovah speaking through His Prophet; Jeremiah 7:31; And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart. Jehovah makes it very clear here that He never had any thought about burning people. He could not, and be a God of Love. What was being done in Tophet was the Canaanite worship of Baal (another name for Nimrod of Babylon). Once again, the teaching of Hellfire and Eternal Torment comes directly from Babylon, as is throughly explained in the boook, The Religion of Babylon and Assyria. It is also featured in The Book of the Dead from Egypt. Buddhism has something similiar as well. But the God of Christianity is not capable of such; see 1 John 4:8.

The original translators of the Bible took man's traditions and transposed/wrote them into Scripture. But what you have posted shows that it is impossible to do so, and do it consistently. Perhaps I did not explain enough. See 1 Timothy 2:11. A woman is to be in submission to her husband. A daughter to her father. Any single women in the congregation to the elders only as far as their labor for Jehovah is concerned. So to say that the women of the congregation are to be in subjection to the Watchtower elders is an absolute lie.

I do not need, nor do I wish, to prove to you; I prove to myself. What each of us believes is our own responsibility; I do not wish to take responsibility for what you believe. THAT is your responsibility. The difference is, when the pope says something, I do not accept it blindly. I dig until I find the facts. Then, if what I believed was in error, I adjust my thinking and move on. This I will guarentee to you, I have never been at a standstill. My life is in constant change as I learn and change. I have a moral obligation to post the Truth. I accept that responsibility. I post nothing that I have not proved, conclusively, to myself, that it is the Truth. But if you accept the Truth is your responsiblity. Not mine. If you want to mire yourself in the garbage of Babylon, and attribute such garbage to Jehovah God, that is your choice. If you wish to mire yourself in the garbage of elections so you can choose the lessor of two evils, and attribute that choice to Jehovah God who says that we should not touch the things of the world, that is your choice, and your responsibility. The first of those walked the earth when Jesus Christ did. The Apostles are among them. And why would you say that they discount the Bible? Do you know where those tribes are today, and, who is a member of those tribes? Then how can you say that such are not those who supposedly make up the 144,000? Nobody knows, and we are not to know, or their names would be listed for us to know.

LOL! I don think so! That is why I have 12 different translations of the Bible. I have known for a long time who was changing the Word of God, and, why they were doing it. I have understood for a long time that the Jews controlled nearly all of the publishing in the world, and if it did not agree with their traditions, it did not get printed. There are some privately printed Bibles that are pretty good, just as the New World Translation is very good. The Pharasiss never went away, and what they have brought with them into Christianity is being used by the vast majority of so-called Christians. For just a small sample, these include a belief in an immortal soul, hell fire and eternal torment, so-called Christmas, Easter, idolism where people pray to and light candles in front of crosses, statutes and pictures, not to mention wearing jewelry that is supposed to protect them, all directly against Bible teaching. But right, I do not understand.... how to find the narrow road where few go.

So you are of the opinion that every member of those 'lost' tribes can be identified, and needs to be so you know exactly who is who. Me, I will simply leave it up to Jehovah, and if someone wants to claim to be such, that is between them and Jehovah, which is pretty much the same opinion of the Witnesses I have talked to. It is not their responsibility, amd it is none of their business.
