Is it possible that virtually everything you think you know about the Bible is simply not biblical?

For instance, are you aware "Three Wise Men" appear nowhere in the story of Jesus' birth, and none are ever mentioned visiting baby Jesus in a Bethlehem manger? It's true, despite what you've seen on countless Christmas cards and in recent movies such as "The Nativity Story."

And did you know Jesus did not come to make everyone understand His message?

Forget the "holy baloney" you've wrongly heard all your life. It's time to put away the fables and get back to the facts.

It doesn't matter if you love the Bible, go to church or believe in God. Get ready for the biggest surprises of your life. It's time to get "Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You've Never Been Told."

WND executive news editor Joe Kovacs has focused his journalism skills on the greatest book of all time – the Holy Bible – and has unearthed hundreds of stunning pieces of information.

This well-researched work, published in hardcover by Thomas Nelson, shatters scores of misconceptions while answering relevant questions regardless of anyone's faith or personal outlook.

"It's not about religion," says Kovacs. "It's about the Bible. What's in it, and what's not. You'll truly be stunned when you see for yourself what Scripture has to say, without anyone telling you it doesn't mean what it says. You may even find that what you thought was in the Bible is the exact opposite of what it really states."

"Shocked by the Bible" is jam-packed with fantastic facts few have ever dared to publish for general audiences.

Kovacs holds nothing back as he purposefully avoids the psychobabble of boring theologians and instead quotes directly from the Bible itself, addressing incredible issues many people are simply unaware of.

Did you know ...

The Bible does not say Jesus died on a Friday, or rose from the grave Sunday morning There were not just two of every kind of animal aboard Noah's Ark The word "Easter" has vanished from today's Bibles The practice of decorating a tree with silver and gold is actually condemned by God God wanted to kill Moses Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were not Jews The Bible talks about "gay" sex with angels. Yes, you read that right. These comprise just a small fraction of the issues Kovacs explores in "Shocked by the Bible." It will even make you burst out in laughter as it probes subjects you'll rarely, if ever, hear in church or on TV and radio shows.

There's a character in the Bible called a "dumb ass" Underwear didn't disintegrate despite 40 years of heavy use The worst case of hemorrhoids in history is recorded "For hundreds of years, people have been brainwashed by myths and misconceptions," says Kovacs. "I want to shine the light of truth on Scripture, and show you with your own eyes the amazing facts you've never seen or heard before."

(Story continues below)

Already, "Shocked by the Bible" is receiving rave reviews:

"If you think you really know the Bible, better think again. Joe Kovacs takes a close look at the greatest story ever told and separates myth from reality. My favorite parts of the book deal with Christmas and Easter. Check out 'Shocked by the Bible.' You may well be shocked." – Bill O'Reilly, anchor, Fox News Channel

"Your parents never told you THIS STUFF was in the Bible." – Melanie Morgan, radio talk-show host, co-author "American Mourning"

"'Shocked by the Bible' is nothing short of genius. From start to finish, Joe Kovacs turns the subject of Scripture into a fun-filled, information treasure that's virtually impossible to put down. The truth of what's really in the Bible will simply stun the world. With the exception of the Holy Bible itself, there's never been another book like this." – Joseph Farah, editor of WorldNetDaily

While this eye-opening blockbuster explodes on the scene everywhere Sept. 30, WND has copies personally autographed by the author ready to ship this week.

Kovacs has written countless reports in his 25-year news career. Many have focused on biblical issues such as chariot wheels said to be found in the Red Sea, searches for Noah's Ark and the Ark of the Covenant, and controversies over Christmas and Easter holidays as well as the Saturday-vs.-Sunday Sabbath.

Kovacs has received many awards for news excellence from the Associated Press and United Press International. He's run television, radio and print newsrooms in the U.S., as well as Budapest, Hungary. Kovacs is also regarded as one of the premier creative headline writers in the news business today.

Find out what you've been missing. Get "Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You've Never Been Told" personally autographed by the author. It also makes a brilliant gift that will be remembered for a lifetime.

The practice of decorating a tree with silver and gold is actually condemned by God

Outstanding noone; I did not know you had it in you. Now, you want to understand most of the book without having to read it? Just read this post;

Examining 101 Strange Beliefs and Practices of Jehovas Wittness's

I am a Christian, noone, with responsibilities, as ordained by Jesus Christ. I will not and do not permit lies about the Bible to go unchallenged.

As a Christ-ian, I am a diciple of Jesus Christ;

Matthew 28:19; Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son.

Under His Covenant, what is known as the New Covenant, there are no ministers or priests. Get that? It is our responsibility. Why is that, noone? Because of the lawless clergy class. The clergy class that speaks soothing words to the people, rather than the Truth about what is in the Bible.

He says "it ain't about religion it's about the Bible" ... I agree.

Yeah, maybe you are getting it. The Bible is not about religion; it is about a way of life.

Now, permit me to be blunt; the only people I know who live by Biblical standards..... are you ready? Are the Jeshovah's Witnesses. Daily.

Details.

Or what part of 'and make diciples of all men' do you not understand?

And who said he is Saint Paul? Oh, right. The Roman 'Universal' Church. Would you like chapter and verse on what he said about being a sinner?

In the Bible, we are told that the wages of sin are death; Paul died. By definition, he was a sinner. He still sleeps, awaiting the Resurrection of all men, that means he was a sinner.

Now, Paul called all of the followers of Jesus Christ saints. But that is not an indiviual title. As Jesus Christ said, I seek not glory from men. Nor do I. Nor did Paul. Or any of the diciples of the Christ.

Go re-read Paul's instructions to Timothy about Bishops.

Like most Protestants, you're picking and choosing which parts you wish to read and which you choose to ignore.

He says "it ain't about religion it's about the Bible" ... I agree.

I will freely admit that I have not read Joe Kovacs' book. Nevertheless, from what comments I have seen here attributed to his book, I see nothing that contradicts my own findings in the Bible, with the possible exception of homosexual sex with angels.

Be that as it may, I see myself as a fundamentalist Christian and I do not agree that it is about the Bible. Quite the contrary, really. It is about how man has fabricated myths and misconceptions based upon the false teachings of the Roman Catholic Church (RCH). It's also about the RCH forbidding any common Christian from reading or owning a Bible for more than 1,000 years -- under penalty of death. That may explain why such error was not caught in the first place; the RCH had a monopoly on it.

While it is true that Martin Luther's Protestant movement should have corrected those false teachings, the RCH was the dominate religious voice in Europe well into the 17th Century. Along with that dominance went influence with Europe's governments, which means the RCH had the power of the state to enforce it's opinion.

I do not see Kovacs'' book as a threat to Christianity. Rather, I see it as an opportunity for Christians to come to grips with the reality of the Bible, as opposed to the pablum that has been shoved down their collective throats by organized religion. If anything, Kovacs'' book will, hopefully, bring the body of Christ to a better understanding of His teachings.

Amen?

Mirage:

Speaking in 1 Timothy, Paul was discussing the minimum qualifications of Bishops and Deacons to hold such offices. Consequently, that is not, in itself, ordination, since any member of the body of Christ can possess those attributes.

He discussed "selecting" them, which is what ordination to the office is. Guess who made the selections? It wasn't a democratic election of the flock.

Anyone can become one, yes, this is true. It always has been and always will be.

So where are they in the sects that claim to be 100% based on the Bible? Where?

richard9151:

If you read Matthew 28:16-20, you will note that Jesus was speaking only to His eleven disciples -- and to no one else. It could be argued, therefore, that His 'Great Commission' applied to no followers other than to his eleven chosen disciples. On the flip side, of course, it also could be argued that all Christians are disciples of the Christ and, therefore, His command applied to all His followers. I prefer the former interpretation rather than the latter, but I also see the latter almost as relevant as I see the former.

As you noted, Paul was no saint (outside of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC)). Like all men, Paul was a sinner who died a physical death. However, when John spoke of the wages of sin being death, he was not speaking of the death that all men face at the end of their physical existence. He was speaking of the second death that comes to those sinners who God condemns come Judgement Day.

Contrary to RCC, and as you noted, the title "saint" is not applied to just certain individuals who inhabit the Bible. All people who reside in the body of the Christ are called saints. Consequently, you and I are tracking very closely.

A critical note that happened to be in the article was this:

* Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were not Jews

The insidious disease eating away our society is an outgrowth of Babylonian Teachings passed on to a very small group of Judahites during the captivity in Babylon. The Babylonian trained "vipers" at the head of the "system" have three distinct locations today. The Vatican, The State of Israel and the (banking center) "city" in London. (Washington D.C. / New York City could also be considered major locations where this filth operates).

These groups are all existing today ... they all adhere to the cabala, take blood oaths and use the credit based, fiat monetary system (mystery of iniquity) to control the world. They are Jesuits, so-called Jews, and High Level Masonics. They are intel agents for the international bankers.

They only have power to control things as long as we are willing to participate in their fraud.

Me too ! I am obsessed with the scriptures and loathe religious organizations.

The information contained in the Bible is important to me.

The hypocrisy of the mainstream churches serves to destroy interest in scriptural study, especially among the youth who see these greedy, fat assed, pulpit prostitutes for what they are and link the bible to them.

Other well intentioned (I call them zealots) people cause strife by constantly providing arguments that are usually irrelevant and act to dissuade others from participation in the study of scripture.

And lastly, religious wars that are really political in nature are wrongly blamed on the Bible. That's not to say that political pulpit prostitutes don't use their "believers" in furtherance of wars because that's exactly what they do. However, many, including myself have regarded the Bible as the cause when it's not the Bible, but men misusing the Bible that cause wars. I guess it's my opinion that it's fair to say the Bible might be indirectly responsible for war because of its abuse by those wishing to wage wars.

that His 'Great Commission' applied to no followers other than to his eleven chosen disciples.

To me, it is impossible to read it that way;

Matthew 28:19; Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, ...

If he had meant only those 11 original diciples, then the original apostles would not have had diciples, and they do in other parts of the Bible.

If you read 1 Corinthians 1;12, where Paul is talking about the dissension among the Corintuans, it is obvious that the men mentioned were teachers of the Word, and diciples of Paul. Then, in 2 Corinthians 5:20; We are therefore ambassadors substituting for Christ, as though God were making entreaty though us. ... That is pretty clearly diciples. And he could not be speaking of the 11 original apostels, because he was speaking to Timothy and the Corinthians. There are more places as well, but the point is that the message was clear that all men are to be diciples, and responsible -- responsilbe -- for preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ.

It is also interesting to see the same message in Isaiah chapter 43.

when John spoke of the wages of sin being death,

You are correct, and I did not use the verse correctly; typing too fast, I suspect. Your point is esp. important to those who believe that simply calling on Jesus Christ is enough, because it is quite plain in Romans 6:21-23 that those who sin will not have everlasting life. See Acts 15:29, John 17:3, James 2:26, and Revelation 3:16. Except for Acts 15:29, any of these can also be applied to being a diciple.

Consequently, you and I are tracking very closely.

Yes, we certainly are. Glad to converse with you I am!!

Go re-read Paul's instructions to Timothy about Bishops.

Hebrews 13:17; Be obedient to those who are taking the lead among you and be submissive, for they are keeping watch over your souls as those who will render an account; that they may do this with joy and not with sighing, for this owuld be damaging to you.

If you are confused as to what that refers to, then you need to study the Elders of a congregation and what their responsibilities are.

They only have power to control things as long as we are willing to participate in their fraud.

????????????????????????????????

Are you in control of the world, noone? Is that it? Or is Jehovah God in control of all events? And has He not proved, time and time again, that everything that happens on the earth does His Will?

1 John 5:19; The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.

Do you have the power of the wicked one, that you may defeat him? Or, is that your fight?

Romans 13:1; Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. 2 Therefore he who opposes the authoity has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will receive judgment to themselves. 3 For those ruling are an object of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad. Do you, then, want to have no fear of the authority? Keep doing good, and you will have praise from it; 4 For it is God's minister to you for your good. But if you are doing what is bad, be in fear: for it is not without purpose that it bears the sword; for it is God's minister, an avenger to express wrath upon the one practicing what is bad.

There is therefore compelling reson for you people to be in subjection, not only on account of that wrath but also on account of your conscience. 6 For that is why you are also paying taxes; for they are God's public servants constantly serving this very purpose. ...

You should read the rest of the chapter, and engrave in upon your heart. It is this chapter that kept me out of trouble with the taxman over the years, every time someone came up with a new scheme they wanted to envolve me in for so- called de-taxing. IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

But first, you have to accept what the Bible says, noone, and not just the parts you like. And, get rid of the anger. Please, for your sake.
