WASHINGTON, Sept 23 (Reuters) - The United States will not have enough forces available to meet a request for more troops from NATO's top commander in Afghanistan until next spring at the earliest, the U.S. defense chief said on Tuesday.

"Without changing deployment patterns, without changing length of tours, we do not have the forces to send three additional brigade combat teams to Afghanistan at this point," Defense Secretary Robert Gates told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

"My view is that those forces will become available probably during the spring and summer of 2009," he said.

Lets see now..

Comrade Bush last winter said we needed to enlarge the number of grunts by 100,000 within five years. Not a voice of dissent from congress.

Fast forward to now and Obummer and McKooK, they both agree with Bush.

One small problem, how do they intend to find 100,000 more volunteers????

Wall Street.

The boys on Wall Street never go.

The needed cannon fodder will come as usual from those of us at the bottom of the social ladder.

Money will not buy the needed numbers, girls will not do and the criminals are already in uniform.

But they do have special skills and talents that the bitter hill folk do not. For soothe (e?), the educated shall too be loaded on the short fun bus to happy land to do to others what they have done to us. Besides, they lost their butt in Oz. They be poor too. Wall paper won't help them now.

The ultimate....

Cheney said he took multiple deferments because he had more important things to do. Five years worth.

Every time, someone down the social ladder was dragged away in his place.

Reluctantly, millions of parents could see their children drafted and sent to fight (and many to die) for Zionism. But they will not do much more than protest, and that will be rare. But they will weep.

People delude themselves if they deny there will be another draft.

I saw this happen in 1940 and again in 1948, both times we were at peace. People said it would never happen, but it did. It did and it will.

I hear you, and believe you, and know this structure to be true.

However, the golden boys used to have jobs to go to. No more.

No skills but cyphering and pencil pushing? All the low paying jobs filled by people with low expectations? I'm telling you these guys are management material and a whole ton of jobs await them, with a benefit package that is equal to and as dependable as, the one they just lost.

It's a crime to send one's children to die for another people when there is no strategic value in the act.

We should be like Liechtenstein. Worst news about them is when Swiss soldiers accidently invaded them when they got lost.

Can't be too careful though.

This is BS. I feel confident the pods who hold Obama out as a saviour will urge their children to fill the sagging military ranks. Afghanistan is his war of choice and the least they can do is offer up their useless, sofa sitting kid up for the cause.

My Grandfather took it quite serious in the 1940s when he was forced to register, and he was born in 1878.

I had two Uncles, married no children, that were dragged in weeks before their 39th birthday.

One was the oldest private in Pattons 3rd Army at age 41.

This is not your grandfather's America, with apologies to the Oldsmobile commercial.

Come to think of it, there IS NO Oldsmobile.

I don't think you fully realize HOW MUCH the American mentality and psyche has changed. I don't think even Obama realizes it. He's not going to bring back "national service" — not to this wreck of a nation. People are just going to hunker down and try to survive for the next decade at least.

This is why "civil war" within this country is so widely predicted. The goons who WERE stupid enough to sign up for various mercenary positions with the Beast will be coming after those who were wise enough not to.

Some may knuckle under to conscription, but many, perhaps a majority, will not. This bailout deal has outraged even the goobs more than ever. Not even "false flag" terror will be able to work anymore.

Sam...

Some things to remember here.

The government and MSM have always portrayed WW2 as a "patriotic war". As I have said many times before here on the forum, that was not true then nor now.

A few were indeed patriotic, the majority rushed to enlist because they had great fear of being cannon fodder infantry. I assure you my two uncles at age 39 were not patriotic, it was go or else. One Uncle was indeed in Pattons infantry all across Europe.

Resist???? No Sam, men will go or else, just as in previous wars. Those at the top of the social ladder get automatic passes, we at the bottom will go.

You must not know too many of today's youth. Those who would go willingly ALREADY HAVE. And it took up to $50K signing bonuses to get THEM in.

i had no idea. i thought they took all youngsters.

This I found interesting and I hope you all do also.

My Uncle in Pattons Army, turned 41 before he was let go with frozen feet, winter of 1945.

Read this carefully.

He use to recount war stories to me endlessly. One day, after he turned 90, he was telling me how things were with Patton. He said this and I fell out of my chair...."You know, I was called Gramp by the rest of my unit as most were 22 and younger, I had a hell of a time trying to keep up with them because of my age. In fact, I went all across Europe in Pattons infantry and never once fired my rifle, when the kids ran, I ran, when they hit the dirt, I hit the dirt"....

He was a little guy, less than 130 pounds dripping wet, carried equipment half his weight.

He said, "I had a hell of time keeping up, let alone shooting at anyone but I was damned if I was going to not be there with the kids.".

Sam, I admit to ignorance without shame, however, having been thru this thing twice before and having heard many a man say they would not go, I saw it first hand. They went.

When the economy takes a nose dive, world wide, you think it is going to be hard to find people who want to eat?! Offer them 20,000 paper $1 bills and find out how fast they sign up.

Which is what the US is doing world wide now, promising citizenship to those who fulfill their tours. Tough s--- if you get killed during the tour.

This info has been posted in the 4um before, about foreign people being sworn in as citizens after they have served, and about how the numbers are growing, fast.

In 1940 there were 20,000,000 unemployed and hungry men, but it took a draft to force them into service. In all 16,000,000 were drafted and I assure you, no one was that hungry to be willing to be killed for nothing.

It is a brave new world today.
