There are 4 possible situation.

1 - McCain shows up, debate
2 - McCain shows up, no debate
3 - McCain stays in Wash, no debate
4 - McCain stays in Wash, debate

I predict #4, giving the McCains' efforts to turn this entire process into a 3- ring circus, with McCain playing 'zee maverick' to Palin's bearded lady.

As for who benefits, McCain's now a loser whether he shows up or not.

I remember the debate during the primaries when Barack Obama said to Hillary, "Sometimes I wonder with one of you I am running against" in regard to her and hubby.

He doesn't want her, and she doesn't want to be his number two. That is bottom line fact.

Perhaps he does not WANT her, that being so, many would argue he may lose the election to McKooK because the black non racist vote and the white guilters may fall short in number.

Perhaps you were too young for this history note, JFK despised LBJ for the political slime he was but he was smart enough to know that without LBJ he might well lose. As it was he barely won by less than 100K votes.

It does. She would accept but not like the new job. Accepting would be her throwing the lit stick of dynamite into the water Obama handed her by offering her the job to fish as she would know holding it and talking would blow things completely for her. -- Too use that old joke as a metaphor. --

Johnson as V.P. was an unmitigated disaster for the United States. Hillary as V.P. would be unmitigated disaster for us and the upcoming Obama Administration as well.

Joe Biden was a good solid choice showing Obama to be tactically proficient. Unchoosing him would be like hanging a dead albatross around Obama's neck.
