The challenge is to identify which paragraph was spoken by Palin on her interview with Couric vs. the speech by Miss Teen USA. Good luck!

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps, and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq everywhere like, such as and I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., er, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our children.

" . . . where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh -- it's got to be all about job creation too. Shoring up our economy, and putting it back on the right track. So healthcare reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, um, scary thing, but 1 in 5 jobs being created in the trade sector today. We've got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that."

Miss Teen USA sounds smarter.

I'm glad that people finally get it. Voters like Palin because of, not in spite of, the fact that she keeps her politics and economics at a second or third grade level.

ugh. i saw two mcCain yard signs on my street when i walked this morning. several obamas in and around my neighborhood. still, compared to the number of RP signs in and around austin, when he was still in, they're few.

Conservative Kathleen Parker says Palin is a total dud. She should "bow out for personal reasons." September 26, 2008 6:45 AM

Watching the CBS interview of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin did not exactly fill conservative columnist Kathleen Parker with confidence.

"Palin's recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.

"No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I've been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I've also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted."

Parker writes that "If Palin were a man, we'd all be guffawing, just as we do every time Joe Biden tickles the back of his throat with his toes. But because she's a woman -- and the first ever on a Republican presidential ticket -- we are reluctant to say what is painfully true."

She suggests that Palin should "bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first.

"Do it for your country."

Not so. The sad fact is that the dipstick is helping, not hurting the McCain ticket. The more stupid things Palin says, the more people think "She's just like me! That's who I'm voting for!"
