Bush signs $600 billion stopgap bill Wed, 01 Oct 2008 02:11:16 GMT

US President George W. Bush signs a government expenditures bill topping 600 billion dollars after his economic relief plan fails.

After Bush's banking bailout scheme failed, the president endorsed a budget bill of 600 billion dollars to fund his administration's activities for the next six months, AFP reported.

Referring to his rejected plan to rescue Wall Street, Bush said, “I am disappointed that the Congress passed a long-term continuing resolution. There is much work to be done, and the Congress should not adjourn for the year without finishing important business on spending, taxes, and free trade agreements.”

The Congress rejected Bush's economic rescue plan to revive the country's ailing investment and money markets due to unclear points in parts of the scheme.

The United States' financial crisis began after the housing market slumped precipitously.

The voters voted for and supported McKook/Obummer desiring more war and bigger government, and that they will have.

This government and its owners will do anything to get this country beyond the election.

Six months?

10, 11, 12, and 21 days in January are not quite six months - or am I missing something here?

Who does, or doesn't do the fact check for these articles?

A nation of mullets, ruled by inbred, moronic traitors.

A once free nation established through Revolution is now forbidden from questioning the authorities without fear of being defamed, renditioned or murdered.

These bastards.

It is really unbelievable to decent people everywhere.

(That's the clean version of what I'm thinking.)

A few more pops, and I let you know how I really feel.

A nation of mullets, ruled by inbred, moronic traitors.

Paulson said in his secret Treasury conf. call, that first 700B was gone the first day. The House plan was phased, of course that was smoke for us, as with passage of that plan, again the 700B was gone.

That plan however included sweeping powers to Treas and FedRes. So, what we have here might look like loan payments to X unwilling to wait for tidy package?

55T was on the table in an earlier post, and I can't see how the charade for more holds up till election. 6B stop gap of 7B should relieve the need for imminent legislation, I would think. Time to asses and all that rot.

I am not sure. We are in some alternate universe at this point.

Who does, or doesn't do the fact check for these articles?

I don't know.
