I was in Alton, Illinois over the weekend and stopped to look at the statue of Robert Wadlow in the park across from the dental school.

He was 8'11" tall and weighed 490 pounds when he died at 22, from an infection in his ankle. Strangely, he never entered puberty. (1 image)

Never entered puberty? Man, he would have been a big 'un when his hormones started working!

He could have been a (cough) "movie star", by dropping the "low" from his name.

His pituitary problem prevented him from ever entering puberty.

I wonder if he had the mind of an 11-year-old at age 22.
