Wishing All These Old Things Were New - Merle Haggard And then there's Lefty Frizzell singing, SAGINAW, MICHIGAN Poster Comment:My mood today. Lefty Frizzell was Merle's inspiration they say, which is why Merles's singing style so closely resembles Lefty's. Hard to believe that any could improve on Lefty's wonderful voice, but it could be said that Merle did just that.
