Troopergate Report: Palin Abused Power Unanimous but Contentious Vote to Release the Report to the Public By JUSTIN ROOD Oct. 10, 2008

(AP Graphic) Sarah Palin abused her power when she fired her Public Safety Commissioner this July, a state investigation has concluded.

The Alaska legislature voted to release the several-hundred page report on the "Troopergate" scandal, a state kerfuffle which has come to haunt Gov. Sarah Palin's vice presidential bid. The scandal centered around her firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan, which Monegan and others believed was part of a personal vendetta against one of his subordinates.

The 14-member, Republican-dominated Legislative Council met in closed session this morning with the investigation's special counsel, Stephen Branchflower. After seven hours of exhaustive review, the legislators voted unanimously to release the report to the public.

"I'm going to vote to release it, but it's not a vote in total agreement," said Republican Sen. Gary Stevens.

"There's not a consensus for the conclusion," said GOP Rep. Bill Stoltze. He said he expected there would be "robust and vigorous intellectual debate on that in other corners."

Stoltze said he had received hundreds of e-mails from all over the country calling for the public release of the report. The state added extra servers to handle the traffic expected when the report is posted electronically to the legislature's Web site.

The Legislative Council voted unanimously to initiate the investigation in late July, after Palin fired former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan. The probe was to determine whether she fired Monegan because he refused to take action against a state trooper who had been through a messy divorce from Palin's sister.

Palin denied wrongdoing and initially voiced support for the investigation. But after she joined the national Republican ticket, she and her supporters said the legislature had no right to investigate her, and accused legislators involved in the probe of supporting Democratic Sen. Barack Obama's presidential bid.

A lawsuit to stop the probe, which echoed many of the campaign's charges, was thrown out yesterday by the state Supreme Court.

Pitiful excuses for human beings they are. Ignoring Obama's ties to terrorists while making a big deal about a witch hunt over firing a state employee. She had very right to fire the dude. She doesn't even have to give a reason for firing him. The guy she fired abused his wife and threatened to kill her.

Her violation is not firing Wooten. She abused power by pressuring subordinates, including Wooten, to fire that brother-in-law of hers.

Do you understand abuse of power? It's the thing that scumbags such as Stalin, Mao or Nixon were known for.

But, I bet, you don't understand much.

Your credibility as an American is zero.

Everyone sees you for what you are, namely a partisan political sheep that will never see the light.

You are in fact a part of the problem in that you have always demonstrated that you are unable to think for yourself. Supporting anyone within the system is voting for our one party government.

One hundred and thirty million programmed sheep including VAST will do their patriotic duty and cast a vote as programmed.

Disgraceful.

Disgraceful.

Oh - Let's not take this so seriously. The President is just a mouthpiece for the men behind the curtain. The real power brokers don't even care if they get a R or a D in the White House.

They've already bought Obama. He's their boy.

It's not just that...

They both share Citigroup and Goldman Sux as backers. The real money's backing Obama and McCain is the dancing monkey in the circus to make Obama look good. On top of it all, Jewgle loves Obama too.

It looks like America is going to have an honest to God banker-backed Marxist as president, all bought and paid for fair and square. Remember what happened in Russia when banker-backed Marxists ran the joint?

Thanks...

However, in the larger scheme of things, I suspect Obama was created for a reason, being President was an ancillary condition.

being President was an ancillary condition.

Absotively. He'll be the American Lenin. Lenin's job as Lead Commissar was merely secondary to first job of steering Russia for the banking houses.

I find it frustrating here on 4um to find people actually supporting this government.

If the government gave the sheep the option to be shot or hung, they would argue among themselves as to the better method. Some days I want forget it all.

I find it frustrating here on 4um to find people actually supporting this government.

It's an indication of the depth of the conditioning and brainwashing that the apex-dwellers have been foisting upon four or five generations of Americans. Most of the sheep will die ignorant of the fact that they spent their entire lives being suckered. I try to be patient with people still in the dark but I also don't waste a lot of time on them. If someone's eyes aren't starting to open to the election grift, they're dense as an oak post.

I know a lot of kids in their 20's. Even the dimmer ones are hip to the scam. The next generation isn't going to be as compliant as the last few generations were.

It is that Obama is that bad.

You say they are equally bad.

I have a question for you. Will the path each of them would take us down be an identical history? I think you know it wouldn't. So how can they be equal? One has to be better and one worse.

some have shocked me.

Me too. So much for the internet waking people up. Leading horses to water and all that.

I think it's an emotional rather than a rational response. People get emotionally attached to party, football team, Coke/Pepsi, Trotsky/Stalin, etc. There's no way to rationally approach anything on that level, which is why the brainwashing media appeals to peoples' baser emotions as it's far easier to manipulate through pandering and fear mongering. The powers that be would be out of business if people actually thought for themselves.
