Poster Comment: The Maverick takes on the hatred he and his people have worked to create. The guilt by association attacks has driven away the independents, and now McCain erratically drives away Republican hard right wingers by lecturing them about how they need to moderate their hatred. Which too often with Right wing Wingnuts is the only thing that keeps them warm at night. Way to go John, thanks. If this is not a typical ploy of yours done for some bizarre or arcane reason, you are doing the right thing. Just watch out for those staffers of yours' trying to corral you with their butterfly nets yearning to get you on the neocon/rightie game plan of gutter politics like Joe McCarthy used to do it.

Mike, it's difficult to understand your positioning yourself in this manner. Sometimes hatred and or anger blinds us to the most obvious truths. I have nothing but contempt for the system we have inherited, and readily admit I HATE IT. I figured you for an independent thinker and one capable of making an honest determination even though I didn't think we'd often agree on every issue. I think it's likely Obama will become president. I also think that you and others supporting him will be as disgusted by choosing him as so many conservatives have been with their choice of Bush. The presidents have rotted in office more with each successive president regardless of party affiliation since Wilson. Surely you see this. I used to just MF you because you're a socialist. This response is not that at all. Even socialists are entitled to liberty and freedom. Obama will usher in the most diabolical form of national socialism we have seen yet. He doesn't have a choice.

Hate toward government, and it's implementers, is the appropriate reaction to the coming and present tyranny we live in. McCain and Obama, both support continued war, unabashed spending and the looting of our treasury. Every politician, from either wing, should be greeted by increasing hate. I'm hoping this is the beginning of the fracturing of the nation.

It must be scary to be a sick, old, jaded senator who expected to smoothly coast to his retirement-by-death-on-the-senate-floor to now suddenly be thrust out front of riotous crowds of monster potted plants, screaming, "FEED ME SEYMOUR!" Like his film counterpart, if "Songbird The Collaborator, Hero Of The Democratic Republic of Vietnam" doesn't feed these crowds the raw meat they require to nourish their hatred (which is after all the reason for the neocons' existence) then they'll turn on him! It would be the same if he was running against Sen. Robert Byrd or Sen. Jay Rockefeller, or fmr. President Jimmy Carter. McCain would be expected to vilify his opponent and imply that he/she is "un-American" because as we all know retreaded Trotskyism ( after being Sanforized by the U of C Straussian School and injected with a saline of "traditional Christian values" which is also nipped and tucked to allow for the cold blooded murder of women and children who are designated as "the enemy") is the new American "conservatism". (sic) It should surprise no one that McCain still doesn't "get it" despite thousands of hours of TV and radio talk shows, because he is a United States Senator. Nobody tells a senator anything. THEY TELL US! A senator is the closest thing we have to a title of nobility in America, but the Frankenstein that now occupies the space once reserved for paleocons/Republicans is free to hate anyone and anything, and no outsider including their own behind the curve candidate (Don't you listen to Sean, John?) and a senior member/incumbent-for-life of the white male millionaires' club has any rights that these carnivorous, illiterate morons and dilettantes are bound to respect. The truly sad part is that otherwise decent Americans can look into this Hellish cult and find one bright spot and say, "That's all the reason I need to vote Republican! Sarah is anti-abortion!" (despite the GOP's unflagging support for abortion, drawing their principled "line in the sand" at the killing of children "partially born" alive (such courage! WOW, the Republicans are the party of moral strength after all!). I mean, these self deluding Americans have to gaze into Hell, block out all the ugliness and find one redeeming virtue and pretend that it will actually matter once the "Kill them Darkies and Strip Mine The Treasury" party is returned to power, and any who oppose their righteous crusade for goodness (especially you, Mikey) would be killed in their sleep if only they had a secret police agency large enough to handle their entire enemies' list. If Jesus The Christ himself stood in front of that crowd and explained why the whole system was worm eaten with corruption, I reckon the modern Pharisees (Gentiles who have been duped into the Straussian, Trotskyist neocon Republican mind control cult, thanks to their high priests Sean and Bill and Rush etc.,) would just nail him up again.
