Nice bike, though I though hillbillies rebuilt old Harleys. ;-)

old Harleys. ;-)

Actually, my two nephews built it and I supervised.

Kids these days don't ride Harleys. To them, they're for old farts.

Just keep an eye out for the idiots piloting their three-ton SUV's while yakking on a cell phone, turning to swat the kids and thinking about what they're going to have for dinner as they merrily plow into you.

Personally, I won't go on the roads any longer with anything less than two tons of steel around me. There's no "right of way" on the streets nowadays, it's all "right of weight". The more damage you can potentially do to them, the more likely they are to see you...

Took it out on an old country road. My oh my, those things are fast.

This is what I drive, a 2001 Toyota Tundra, has this exact same canopy on it too, only mine's gold instead of grey, is 4WD and has aftermarket wheels and tires on it. Bought it new, have not even turned 20k miles on it yet. I work out of my home, so don't put too many miles on my rig. With any luck, I'll keep this for 20 more years. Runs like a watch.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. —Thomas Jefferson, 1802

Just a heads up, expect rear end problems.

The early 2000's pickups from Toyota have a problem with a sealed bearing developing play and leaking fluid from the pumpkin. You'll know when it fouls your brake pads.

I may be wrong about this, but I think it's still under recall.

Really? I had not heard of this! I'll be sure to call the dealership next week and see what the story is. Thanks for the heads up!

Youre welcome, my neighbour went though this a couple years ago on a 2000 Tundra.

I may be wrong about the recall though, it's a little fuzzy in my mind. I think the dealer replaced it for him though.

i had a small toyota truck years ago. it was our 3rd auto, so it wasn't driven much. there were times when it sat out front for weeks. amazingly, it would start right up every time. great little truck.

Nice bike.

I stopped riding here in Connecticut after 3 close-calls in 1993.

I bought new a 1981 silver 900F. Added "European" footpegs.

Never found a good seat. 2 hour ride was the most that I could tolerate without stopping for 30 minutes.

Once had an "incident" on I-90 through Buffalo, NY. Two jerk truckers tried to "squeeze" me when I passed between them. (Yeah, truckers are conservative good guys).

I'm rambling again. Sorry.
