Why I Left Organized Christendom – and Why I Joined the Jehovah’s Witnesses

Matthew 7:13, 14; “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.

I started reading the Bible more than 20 years ago, alone. Why alone? Because I simply did not know of anyone who actually read the Bible. I was raised a Roman Catholic; they certainly do not read the Bible! Others claim to, but everything that I saw in the organized churches of Christendom were but a reflection of the Roman Catholic church.

So I started reading a Bible that had been given me by a friend. That Bible, which I still use to some extent, was a King James Study Bible, and, when I found the Scripture above, it opened my eyes further and started me on a life long quest; I have no wish to be like everyone else. Never have had.

In the King James;

Matthew 7:13, 14; Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

You will note how the two translations harmonize. Most of the Bibles harmonize; it is just that you must take more care in understanding some because the meanings are harder to decipher. Perhaps this is deliberate; most all translators of the Holy Scriptures into English have been Trinitarians. More on this in just a moment.

Just before I read Matthew 7:13 the first time, I found this in the King James Bible;

Jeremiah 10:2, ; Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. …

I probably do not need to transcribe these verses for you from another Bible; all of them are basically the same. After I read this, I had to go back and read it several more times over a period of time, just to be sure that it said everything that I thought it did. No Christmas tree?! Where did this come from?

Perhaps the better question was… where did Christmas come from? But it took me a couple of years to get to that question. After I reached that point, it did not take me long to find the answers. In any search engine, just type in Nimrod and Christmas.

www.xanga.com/Babylon_The_Great/554683845/item.html

I am not going to go into great detail, because most of you have seen all of this information before! However, unlike myself, you permit yourself to serve yourself instead of putting the wishes of Jehovah FIRST.

"Nimrod started the great organized worldly apostasy from God that has dominated this world until now. Nimrod married his own mother, whose name was Semiramis. After Nimrod's death, his so-called mother-wife, Semiramis, propagated the evil doctrine of the survival of Nimrod as a spirit being. She claimed a full-grown evergreen tree sprang overnight from a dead tree stump, which symbolized the springing forth unto new life of the dead Nimrod. On each anniversary of his birth, she claimed, Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree and leave gifts upon it. December 25th, was the birthday of Nimrod. This is the real origin of the Christmas tree." -The Plain Truth About Christmas by David J. Stewart | December 24th, 2005

"Traditionally, a yule log was burned in the fireplace on Christmas Eve and during the night as the log's embers died, there appeared in the room, as if by magic, a Christmas tree surrounded by gifts. The yule log represented the sun-god Nimrod and the Christmas tree represented himself resurrected as his own son Tammuz." --After Armageddon -Chapter 4 -- Where do we get our ideas? by John A. Sarkett

Now, let me see, what does organized Christendom have to say about Christmas?

kingskidstuff.home.att.net/christmas.htm

“But God gave the greatest gift ever given - himself, that very first Christmas.”

Aimed directly at children; how interesting. Why bother posting more? Just type Christian Christmas into any search engine and read all that you wish to. But all of you know this, yet you insist on doing that which is clearly forbidden. Just as does all apostate Christendom.

Is there more?

Easter. Just type in pagan Easter. Interesting.

Would Jesus Keep Easter? Order Free Book

The short answer to the above is, no.

altreligion.about.com/cs/alchemy/a/mpreviss.htm

In second century Europe, the predominate spring festival was a raucous Saxon fertility celebration in honor of the Saxon Goddess Eastre (Ostara), whose sacred animal was a hare.

The colored eggs associated with the bunny are of another, even more ancient origin. The eggs associated with this and other Vernal festivals have been symbols of rebirth and fertility for so long the precise roots of the tradition are unknown, and may date to the beginning of human civilization. Ancient Romans and Greeks used eggs as symbols of fertility, rebirth, and abundance- eggs were solar symbols, and figured in the festivals of numerous resurrected gods.

Just type in Easter and pagan into any search engine and read all about it.

I stopped this non-sense, fast, once I caught on. This is what real Christians do.

BUT but but!!! My family!!

Matthew 10: 34, 35; Do not think that I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. 35 For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law.

All of you in organized Christendom, AND YOUR CHURCHES, celebrate Easter; you go along to get along. I do not. Neither do the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I like them for that!

And I wish to make something perfectly clear here; I knew all of this long, long before I met my first Jehovah’s Witness. LONG BEFORE. And I stopped all of the non-sense, as best I could, long before as well.

Eventually, where did all of this take me?

The Roman Catholic Church -- Examined Historically and Biblically

cdelph.org/catholic.html#false

FALSE DOCTRINES WHICH UNITE THE CHURCHES WITH ROME

TIME OUT! Read the above sentance a couple of times and understand what it says!! Unites the churches (of Christendom) with Rome.

2. THE DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY. Belief in a triune God - a God that is both one and three - is opposed to reason and the clear declaration of Scripture (Mark 12:29; 1 Corinthians 8:6). It was included in church teaching about 300 years after the death of Christ, and from Rome has found its way into the beliefs of nearly all communities of Christendom.

The HOLY SPIRIT is the power of God, a divine energy by which He fills all space and creates and sustains all things: Luke 1:35, Psalm 51:12, 104:30, 139:7-12, Acts 17:27-28. The Holy Spirit is NOT A PERSON, but the "one spirit" of God used for special purposes: miracles, signs and wonders: Acts 2:1-4.

MAN is a mortal creature whose consciousness utterly ceases at death, and, therefore, renewed life can come only through a bodily resurrection. Genesis 3:19, Ezekiel 18:4, Psalm 6:5, Ecclesiastes 3:18-19, 9:5-6, Isaiah 38:18-19, 1 Corinthians 15:13-21, John 5:28-29, Daniel 12:2.

The above is a pretty good site. I have found only a couple of things in it that are not correct, according to my understanding of the Bible, but overall, much superior to anything taught in apostate Christendom.

Everything taught in the Roman Catholic church comes from tradition.

Mark 7:13; (Jesus Christ speaking) and thus you make the word of God invalid by your tradition which you handed down. And many things similar to this you do.

Colossians 2:8; Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ;

Matthew 15:2; (Pharisees and scribes speaking to Jesus Christ) “Why is it your disciples overstep the tradition of the men of former times? 3 In reply he said to them: “Why is it you also overstep the commandment of God because of your tradition?”

Now, what does the Roman church say about the so-called Christian churches of Christendom?

www.the-ten-commandments....olic-tencommandments.html

“It was the Catholic church which…has transferred this rest to Sunday in remembrance of the resurrection of our Lord. Therefore the observance of Sunday by the Protestants is an homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the (Catholic) church.” — Monsignor Louis Segur, Plain Talk About the Protestantism of Today, p. 213.

The same is said by the Roman church about the so-called Protestants (apostate Christendom) for their following of any of the dogma and tradition of the Roman church; they are our daughters for the homage they pay to us.

www.catholicfirst.com/the...hurchdocuments/dogmas.cfm

Dogmas of the Catholic Church

Positive Foundation of the Dogma of the Trinity

The Trinity came from the Roman Catholic church. Period. I have posted all of the details about this before. If you are a Trinitarian, essentially, you are a Roman Catholic, and this is the opinion of the Roman Catholic church, not mine.

People here in the 4um have told me that the Trinity is… a mystery. No one understands it, but… we have to believe it. WHY?

There are no mysteries in the Bible. Jesus Christ himself said that he said nothing in secret! ALL WAS REVEALED. The problem is, you have to do the work, the study, and the reading, in order to gain understanding.

I cleansed myself of the Trinity beliefs long before I met my first Witness. Just by reading the Bible on my own, and, trusting the Bible that I was reading; a King James Bible.

THAT, is the big difference between all of you, and all Jehovah’s Witnesses (including myself). They read the Bible EVERY day. And you claim that they are confused? How dare you.

Remember this verse? I have posted it often enough;

John 17:3; This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

What do you suppose it means? How about this;

John 15:19; If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

Everything that you all hold so dear comes from the world. Christmas, Easter, all of the holy days set up by the Roman church, the traditions that all of you hold so dear, and you do not understand? Is eternal life that valueless to you?! That you can not do your own study to learn?!

Answer me this; why does the world hate Jehovah’s Witnesses?! But loves the Catholics, Baptists and all apostate Christendom?

Luke 13; 24, 27; Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to get in but will not be able, 25 when once the householder has got up and locked the door, and you start to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Sir, open to us.’ But in answer he will say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26 Then you will start saying, ‘We ate and drank in front of you, and you taught in our broad ways.’ 27 But he will speak and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from. Get away from me, all you workers of unrighteousness.!’

I left the world long ago. I joined the Jehovah’s Witnesses because they are the only group I have found that closely follow the teachings of the Bible; organized apostate Christendom DOES NOT. Not even remotely, which each of you would understand (and honestly, probably do) if you but did the due diligence necessary to learn.

The choice is yours; study, or accept the second death, which is in the lake of fire.

A NOTE; I COULD CONTINUE THIS FOR A LONG, LONG TIME, JUST LISTING THE THINGS THAT ARE WRONG IN CHRISTENDOM, SUCH AS BLOOD. WHY? EITHER YOU WILL CHOSE TO STUDY, OR, YOU WILL NOT. THAT CHOICE IS YOURS AND YOURS ALONE. Jehovah God DOES NOT require it. But His promises are dependent upon it.

you rang?

some random thoughts...

I agree the way we celebrate Christmas has pagan roots, HOWEVER, I don't expect my Christmas tree [when I have one] to TALK, nor do I expect it to "go", and I don't "bear it" anywhere. Once I set it up, it's pretty stationary until I take it down. God wasn't talking about CHRISTMAS TREES. He was talking about wooden IDOLS, such as those the antichrist heathens of the City of London continue to carry around today:

"Gog and Magog

Magog in the Guildhall

The statues of Gog and Magog currently standing in the Guildhall were commissioned from sculptor David Evans by Alderman Sir George Wilkinson, who was Lord Mayor when the previous versions were destroyed in the Blitz. The phoenix shield tells us that this is Magog.

The previous statues stood for over two hundred years. ****They were carved by Captain Richard Saunders in 1708 to replace older wicker-and-plaster statues that had succumbed first to fire and then to rats and mice.

Gog and Magog

In 2006 the original wicker Gog and Magog finally returned to the Lord Mayor's Procession, thanks to months of hard work by the Company of Basketmakers.

Towards the head of the procession you will see two stern but benevolent wicker giants. They are Gog and Magog, the traditional guardians of the City of London, and they have been carried in the Lord Mayor’s Show since the reign of Henry V.

Gog and Magog, or sometimes Gogmagog and Corineus, are descended from the pagan giants of early English pageantry and their origins lie in ancient legends of Britain’s beginning........

Our giants have no trace of the supernatural about them. They come from folk custom, deriving their names from pseudo-historical characters like Gogmagog, from Biblical history like Samson, or from classical mythology like Hercules. They are a part of a tradition in English pageantry which **** pre-dates Christianity.

The custom of carrying effigies and images at festivals is sometimes explained as an echo of the days when the same festival would have revolved around a human sacrifice. The victim was replaced with a symbolic representation, and as the old rites were incorporated into the Church, the sacrificial effigy came to represent the saint whose sacrifice was being celebrated. Whatever one thinks of this theory, the custom of carrying effigies at festivals was widespread in the middle ages both in England but on the continent, and the giants of pre-christian mythology were among them. The huge figures that you will see on the day of the Lord Mayor’s Show are just the latest versions of pagan effigies that go back thousands of years........"

"....they speak not and need to be borne...."

Now where did this JW particular objection to Christmas originate do you suppose. [And remember, Cornwallis told George Washington: A HOLY WAR will now begin against America. She will think she is free, but HER CHURCHES WOULD BE USED TO TEACH THE JEWS' RELIGION, and she would be working toward divine government which is the (Judeo) British (see: http://www.asis.com/users/stag/royalty.html ) Empire. This is important, because THIS is the hidden hand we have been fighting for over 400 years in this country. (Genesis 15:13-14/Galatians 3:16-29/Psalm 2 ..... AMERICA is ISRAEL. http://www.originofnations.org/old_bi_literature/Pitts.htm) It is so important I am going to quote it all again:]

"....British Israelism is his grand design. far back the plot to take America with the Kingdom Message has been organized.

It is certain that Senator Joseph McCarthy did much research on the Communist conspiracy. He came too close when he discovered British Israel and its Kingdom Message propaganda. The following quotes are from an article with the title: GEORGE WASHINGTON'S SURRENDER: "And many of the people of the land became Jews." Esther 9:17. "The confession of General Cornwallis to General Washington at Yorktown has been well hidden by historians. History books and text books have taught for years that when Cornwallis surrendered his army to General Washington that American independence came, and we lived happily ever after until the tribulations of the twentieth century."

"Jonathan Williams recorded in his LEGIONS OF SATAN, 1781, that Cornwallis revealed to Washington that "a holy war will now begin on America, and when it is ended America will be supposedly the citadel of freedom, but her millions will unknowingly be loyal subjects to the Crown." Cornwallis went on to explain what would seem to be a self contradiction: "Your churches will be used to teach the Jew's religion and in less than two hundred years the whole nation will be working for divine world government. That government that they believe to be divine will be the British Empire. All religions will be permeated with Judaism without even being noticed by the masses, and they will all be under the invisible all-seeing eye of the Grand Architect of Freemasonry." And indeed George Washington himself was a Mason, and he gave back through a false religion what he had won with his army.

"Cornwallis well knew that his military defeat was only the beginning of world catastrophe that would be universal and that unrest would continue until mind control could be accomplished through a false religion. What he predicted has come to pass. A brief sketch of American religious history and we have seen Masonry infused into every church in America With their veiled Phallic religion.

"Darby and the Plymouth Brethren brought a Jewish Christianity to America. Masons Rutherford and Russell started Jehovah Witnesses' Judaism which is now worldwide with their message of the divine kingdom. Mason Joseph Smith started Mormon Judaism with its Jewish teaching of *** millennialism.

"At the turn of the twentieth century there appeared the Scofield Bible with a Jewish interpretation of the prophecies. With wide use of this "helpful" aid all the American churches have silently become synagogues. We now have Baptist Jews, Methodist Jews, Church of God Jews, apostate Catholic Jews, and many Protestant Jews throughout America. We are aliens in our own country because of false religion. All are praying for divine deliverance into that "Divine Government" which Cornwallis knew to be the British Empire.

"A false religion has been used to deceive us into allegiance to our enemies of Yorktown and Bunker Hill. No! Not a gun has been fired but the invisible and malignant process of conquering America with the Jew's religion has gone on unabated. The Union Jack has been planted in our hearts with religious deception. All has happened "legally," "constitutionally," "freely" and completely within our most sacred trust -- our churches. Religious deception is painless innoculation against truth. It cannot be removed from the conscience with surgery, yet it is the motivator of our actions and directly controls our lives. Once man gives over to false religion, he is no longer rational because he originates no thought. His life is controlled by whomever controls his religion.

"The veil of false religion is the sword of Damocles and its power to control humanity defies even the imagination of tyrants who use it."

"This is not to say that George Washington was a traitor willingly, or knowingly. He was beguiled into a Satanic religious order that insidiously controls men's minds. So have American statesmen and military leaders down through the years given aid and allegiance to the enemies of the United States because they did not have knowledge of the invisible subterfuge that stalks this land. My eyes were opened the day my colleague from Ohio handed me Wagner's FREEMASONRY AN INTERPRETATION. If every American would read it, they would no longer ask why and how it has happened."

Given by Senator Joseph McCarthy, six months before his mouth was closed forever. End of quote from GEORGE WASHINGTON'S SURRENDER. ....."

THIS ARTICLE STARTS OUT THUS:

"The Union Jack

by Helen Peters

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EPILOGUE
The Watchtower Society, better known as Jehovah's Witnesses, is a massive international movement and an important crypto- Jewish cult in the spread of the kingdom message. In their issue of AWAKE on October 8, 1971, page 23 under title The Barrier of Nationalism Removed, we read this statement:
"God's kingdom will forever remove the barrier of nationalism; people of all races will live in peace under one government." End of quote.
This is the purpose of all kingdom cults to remove the barrier of nationalism by teaching a false religion which promotes World Government. Is this not Communism?
Fear hysteria is used constantly to drive humanity to a state of mind which causes them to desire the relief which is promised by the kingdom cults in their kingdom message. In the same Jehovah's Witnesses publication named above they play up the propaganda of crime, sickness, poverty, pollution, drug abuse, overpopulation and famine. All this is the big lie to bring us to expect a state of collapse at any time.
This fear hysteria neutralizes us with a feeling of hopelessness. When one is under the influence of this propaganda, he stops doing anything constructive. No one ever does anything constructive while fearing an imminent crisis whether real or imagined. In this state of mind one would not plant a rose for fear he would never see it bloom. Our country is a haven for artificially induced public hysterias. A crisis is created out of thin air such as pollution or overpopulation and people are herded like cattle this way and that, always against their best interest. A case in point is Ralph Nader's consumerism which he builds on created myths and which has caused a higher cost of living for the consumer without any added benefits.
A new publication by a British Israel Identity group called CHRISTIAN VANGUARD is off on Jew-bait as one would expect. In their issue #12 they attack the books THE UNION JACK and SPIRITUAL COMMUNISM. On page six they made this revealing statement, quote: "To wreck both conservative and Identity movements they had to find a tie to link them together. That tie was in the almost universal belief, by ALMOST ALL PROTESTANT ORGANIZATIONS, that Christ will return to earth to rule physically for 1,000 years."
"Although there was no other point of similarity between 'conservatives' and the Identity movement, they found this one 'link.'" End of quote.
This one "link" is all important because it not only ties in the conservative and Identity Movements, it links them with the Jew's religion which the Identity people promote as the Kingdom Message. The Identity people are bastard offspring of Judaism because their belief in the earthly kingdom is Judaism. ........"
http://www.sweetliberty.org/issues/hoax/unionjack_epilogue.htm
I agree with this author that Jehovah's Witness is a crypto-Judeo-Masonic organization. However, I disagree with her contention that God is not building His kingdom on earth. He most certainly is [BUT IT WON'T BE UNDER ANTICHRIST JEWS OR MEROVINGIAN "DIVINE RIGHT TO RULE" KINGS, OR THEIR APOSTATE "JUDEO-CHRISTIAN" RELIGION], but I DO agree the "1,000" years bit the JUDEO-Christian churches believe in is a crock. This is a dangerous heresy that ranks right up with there with, and supports, the "rapture". We are living in the so-called "millennium" right now, and have been since the resurrection and God destroyed the Jews' kingdom, and turned it over to His saints. [I started a post on that subject yesterday, and will see if I can find it in these 113 windows.]
Back to where this particular objection to Christmas REALLY came from:
I gave it a cursory glance. It looks very good, richard; I think you would approve. It even ends up blaming it all on Rome. I will have to read it later, and re-read what-all was written about their Gog and Magog statues and THEIR PAGAN ORIGINS which PREDATED CHRISTIANITY, and digest it all. At first glance, this appears to be more of Judeo-British-Israel's Hegelian dialectic approach to moving the herd in the direction they want us to go. JUDAISM CREATED Roman Catholicism. Roman Catholicism is NOT Christian in the original sense of the word, and you know that.
I think you know about the super-secret "Pilgrims Society". They have been working in tandem with all those other groups to bring us back to heel under The City. They are also the ones behind our merger with Canada. They just need "one ring" [universal religion] to bind us. Remember these people are descended from the Khazars [who were also related to THREE OF THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL], who offered up two opposing religions to their people, Christianity and Islam [thesis/antithesis], and then provided them with the solution: JUDAISM. Good trick. It's worked for them for thousands of years. They have offered us so many forms of Judeo-Christianity. They must think the Jehovah's Witnesses is the best way to go, since they don't charge for their instruction. Guess what? The Rothschild British-Israel site scepterofjudah doesn't charge for all their Judeo-"Christian" fascism instruction, either. That's not Biblical either. The priests, as servants of the Lord, were supported by the people.
I will have a couple more things to add to the above later.....since you "asked".
"...as long as there..remain active enemies of the Christian church, we may hope to become Master of the World...the future Jewish King will never reign in the world before Christianity is overthrown - B'nai B'rith speech http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/luther.htm / http://bible.cc/psalms/83-4.htm
I am happy for you.
Thank you. I appreciate that, but the JWs are not the ones with the answers.
This is what people do not grasp. All the JWs do is open the Bible for people. That is where the answers are; not with the JWs. They admit, openly, when they have been in error in how they understood Scripture and they change, openly; how many other 'churches' in Christendom have you seen do that?
When you have 7 million people reading the Bible together, plus countless more millions reading with them, well, things become clearer and questions are answered that all have had about the Bible. Takes time to work through the system, but work through it does, just as promised in the Bible.
When a man who is honestly mistaken hears the truth, he will either quit being mistaken or cease to be honest.
That's because you fall for the fallacy that pi are square. Pi are not square, pi are round. Cornbread are square.
My objection is the idea that God would reveal the truth in a book.
Why would you find that objectionable? Do you believe in Almighty God? If you do, then what part of Almighty confuses you? If He is Almighty, then He surely has the wherewithal to protect His Holy Word in a book. And He does.
That is what is so fasinating about the Bible; it is easily the most complicated book ever written; it harmonizes throughout, even though it was written over about 1700 years, by more than 40 different men. It is its own witness.
and especially in man, that He made in His image.
I put up a post several days ago titled; Make man in our image. It is under the religion thread; I think you would find it of interest.
Everlasting life can be attained through our children and through a reverence for sustainable human fertility.
Really? OK, but I much prefer the promises detailed to us in the Bible by Jehovah God, where He promises life eternal to those who willingly accept His Will. Remember the Lord's prayer? Let your Will be done in heaven and on earth (paraphrased)? Simply stated, Jehovah God has never, and can never, break one of His Promises. Much of the Bible is involved in explaining that. Pretty neat when you get it all.
Of course it is. It's a belief system based on adherence to a set of writings that you believe to be divinely inspired because someone you feel is an authority of such things told you so.
Ummmm. Nope. Guess not. I was raised a Roman Catholic, and get this; they don't read the Bible. Ever. In fact, the local priest, where I went to the Catholic school, went out of his way to discourage such. I found the Bible on my own, and read it on my own for more than 20 years, cleansing myself along the way of most of the garbage that I carried from organized religion.
Once you begin to understand the Bible, there is no doubt that it is divinely instpired. NO DOUBT. BUT, that means ALL of the Bible, and not just selected parts.
Myself, I have found no such person whom I would view as the knower of all truths.
There is no such person. THAT IS THE POINT. All men are liars; does anyone doubt that?! So, then, what is the source of Truth that all men can trust? (See the note I just put up in this tread to Peter Carswell, please.)
When a man who is honestly mistaken hears the truth, he will either quit being mistaken or cease to be honest.
They would very politely invite you in and visit with you. And you may not leave as a wiccan, which would be the point, don't you see.
That is what got me; when Gary talked to me, knowing everything that I know, sure, I'll study the Bible with you, and, (silently) teach you a few things along the way. Oops!
"God's kingdom will forever remove the barrier of nationalism; people of all races will live in peace under one government." End of quote.
This is the purpose of all kingdom cults to remove the barrier of nationalism by teaching a false religion which promotes World Government. Is this not Communism?
They serve no governments of men. They understand perfectly that the ONLY government is that government headed by Jehovah God, with Jesus Christ sitting on the throne as King and Judge of the earth. Jesus Christ said it very plainly; "My government is not of this world."
people of all races will live in peace under one government
This is exactly what they are talking about. Do not talk about things that you do not understand; if you have questions, ask.
I assume you understand where Jehovah God disowned the Israelites and declared that He would chose a people for Himself out of all of the peoples that inhabit the earth, which is the Second Covenant.
This is EXACTLY why they do not vote, or, serve in any military. In fact, just a few years ago, 10 brothers in Africa were hanged when they refused to 'learn war (no more).' They are completely neutral as pertains to any of the world's organizations.
I was brought up Roman Catholic and went to Catholic school, so I know more than you think about it. We studied the Old Testament more than anything else, but did so through Catechism, not the Bible itself. We of course learned about church doctrine, the Trinity, the sacraments, etc.
When I actually picked up a Bible and looked it over, I couldn't believe anyone in modern times could believe such stuff. I realized why the Church hid it from view except for selected excerpts read out loud in Mass by the priest, as most educated people would have laughed it off as archaic fantasies of an ignorant people.
However, the Church actually WROTE what became the New Testament, transcribing text from supposed letters of the diciples, although the origin of those letters is highly dubious.
So your belief that everything in there was written by God is just that, a belief, AND a religion.
In reality it was written by men, which you have even just said yourself are all liars.
That is not supported by historical fact. There are numerous references in the historical record of where the letters from the Apostles came from, and a clear record of who wrote them, over and beyond what is in the letters themselves.
As to what people believe, that is generally only those who have a very, very thin knowledge of the surface of the Bible. When you study it, the knowledge and how it changes your life is amazing. The problem is, few will study it.
There is a reason why more than 4 billion Bibles have been printed, and, why it has been studied for more than 3,500 years, starting from the time of Moses.
For those of you who do not wish to study it, so be it. You have made your choice. I have no problem with that.
Actually, the Book of Genesis in it's current form in Hebrew along with the rest of the Pentateuch was written somewhere 500-450 BC .
From Wikipedia;
This sees Genesis as a composite work assembled from originally independent sources: the J text, named for its use of the term YHWH (JHWH in German) as the name of God; the E text, named for its characteristic usage of the term "Elohim" for God; and the P, or Priestly source, named for its preoccupation with the Aaronid priesthood.
So people couldn't have read the Torah in its current form until 2450 years ago, and the New Testament didn't exist until 1900 years ago or so.
The reason why so many Bibles were printed is that Rome controlled the world, and when the secular empire faded away, the Roman Catholic church took over and FORCED people to believe, otherwise they were tortured and/or put to death.
If you wish to believe that which was forced upon people under penalty of death, and see that as a path to everlasting life, so be it.
The reality is that the text known as "Torah" (Law) was in fact culled from other sources - much more ancient than we can trace.
The "New Testament" as incorporated in the King James, and later, translations are themselves translations of translations of translations. At each step of the way it has modified for political expediency. This is not to cast aspersions upon the existence of God or that Jesus the Christ was a real historical figure, but that the text upon which people draw for authority in their pronouncements is not a true copy of the original and has been subject to "editing" for the prejudices of whatever temporal powers were at the time of the translation.
Look up "The Council of Nicea".
There is no force in the Bible. Period. No one has ever been forced to read the Bible; it is a free will choice.
There is nothing of the Bible in the Roman Catholic church. Sorry if you are confused about that, but as I posted in this post, the Roman Catholic tradition comes straight from Babylon. I have posted many, many details about that several times.
Rome specifically forbid people to read the Bible, and in fact put people to death who dared to do so. They killed about 10 million in Europe over the reformation. The printing of the Bible occured AFTER Rome lost control of the Bible because printing was invented.
Have you ever looked into the word heresy and what a charge of heresy would lead to? If you disagreed with the church you were tortured and confessed to various crimes, and then were put to death, usually in very grotesque ways.
The religious order that led such crusades against "heretics" is the same order that gave you your New Testament, as they are the ones that canonized whatever they wanted to put in there, after various translations, interpretations, and various "editing". Who knows if the original text were truly authentic, it's highly debatable that they even came from the named authors.
I've never been told by a priest or a nun that it was a sin to read the Bible, I think you are pretty much making that up as you go.
If anything, Catholics might not view the Bible as literally true, but that it contains spiritual truths that are divinely inspired. If you truly think that God looks like a man and in the space of seven days created everything that exist, living and otherwise, then I don't think there's anything I could say to you that would change your mind. If the book says it happened that way it HAS to be true, right?
BTW, are you one of those that believe if the Bible doesn't mention it, then it can't be true?
Exactly. I once found a very well documented analysis of the history of the New Testament online, and it was quite an eye opener. I suspected as much for quite some time, but the information presented confirmed my suspicions.
I've also found that the Essenes (the Jewish sect that Jesus himself actually belonged to) believed in things much differently than what is portrayed in the New Testament. The Essenes were hunted down by the Romans, and later the Church, and exterminated wherever they were found.
I see much death and violence in what became Christianity, which is opposite of the most important teachings of he who was named Jesus. So I don't believe the fruits of that deception and violence, nor anything that derives from it.
Agree. It's nuts.
To those who think that they can change what has been written since before the beginning of time; I don't know what to say. Probably nothing would be best.
The disciples thought that Jesus would return in a few weeks, after some re-cupe time from the crucifixion, resurrection, and all that ordeal. Here we are some 2K years later, and some people are still trying to predict, or effect, the day of His return.
All we're supposed to do, is do the best that we can, every day, and spread the good news.
I call your socialist hero Barry Soetoro aka: Obama a monkey boy and you threaten to kill me? Not just kill me, but kill me in a gruesome manor usually reserved for psychotic serial killers. You need to be put down like a mad dog.
Not that I owe you any explanation but your arrogance and hatred of white people blinds you to the fact that I might only have a problem and dislike for Soetoro/Obama. But again, your hatred of whites and white culture precludes you from accepting that. So have seat, get some watermelon,scratch your spawn's little nappy head (Oh yeah, I've now got a problem with you) and get ready for some truth.
I donated both my time and money to the Alan Keys campaign.
I respect Walter Williams as a great American. He should run for President. I'm sure if he did, it would be you insulting him.
Now for you. If I ever see you in my area, I will immediately report both you and a copy of your post to the local police. If you make a threatening move toward me, I will cut you down on the spot. I will not hesitate.
Now get that useless nappy headed mudboy you spawned and his whore mother and enjoy some music.
It's just for you -- enjoy :)
Actually, even if one man is only slightly less dangerous then the other, making a choice and voting is quite alright to do.
I first broadcast my intention to vote Obama after Robin was bullied about her preference for him as a voting choice and left. I was going to keep my choice much to myself, but I thought that sucked and decided to do the full Monty in everyone's face about it.
I don't care if you and others don't like him, I am making this choice for me with my vote.
I know the popular mindset in here not to vote, but I was never one to worry about fitting in and doing and saying what the chorus does. If I did, I wouldn't be an eleven years DU account holder with still less then a thousand posts.
Yeah, you are correct. That has nothing to do with the Bible. Period. The Bible is a free will document. Almighty God is not interested in people who do not willingly chose to follow His Laws. The 'church' you are talking about also has nothing to do with the Bible: try the book, Two Babylons. If you need direction, no problem, go here; http://www.biblebelievers.com/babylon/
The comnplete book is free of charge just for the down load, from, of all places!! Bible Believers.
The religious order that led such crusades against "heretics" is the same order that gave you your New Testament, as they are the ones that canonized whatever they wanted to put in there, after various translations, interpretations, and various "editing". Who knows if the original text were truly authentic, it's highly debatable that they even came from the named authors.
Not hardly. I have books on the subject. Esp. over the last 200 hundred years there have been found numerous old texts dating back nearly to 100 C.E., long before the Roman church took control. And even that does not matter to anyone who cares to study the Bible. The information in there DID NOT COME from the Roman church, because it directly contradicts EVERYTHING that the Roman church teaches. Everything.
I've never been told by a priest or a nun that it was a sin to read the Bible, I think you are pretty much making that up as you go.
I suggest that you read this first, to understand the history of the Roman catholic church; http://www.gotquestions.org/Protestant-Reformation.html
Then you could read this on the Inquistions; http://www.gotquestions.org/inquisitions.html
I've had FReepers hunt me down here during the Klamath Water crisis with the intent to do bodily harm or harass (so they inferred.)
And I think they were shocked I looked for and found them when the word came back through the Whitaker Neighborhood grapevine they were looking for me.
We actually sat as Eugene Saturday Market and I bought them some of Dana's fine coffee and cheesecake. and we parted on good terms.
Remember "Niagara Falls,' the Three Stooge version of "slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch..." vaudeville routine? What it is about is how big men talk war stories, and how socially appropriate they act in real life with whom they talked trash about.
I lack fear for the most part, I never have been able to exhibit the same level if being intimidated as I see many others getting. It's just how I am.
I went to several schools growing up, and learned how to chose and dominate the right large bully guy in my new school to back those types off. They always prefer an easy target anyway. I went to three high schools, and really got the last guy who I used as a wind dummy really horror show great.
I am 5 foot 6 and weigh 160 pounds, and had quite the baby face as a youth always looking much younger then my years. I learned it was better to be proactive and go after the usual suspects in student society before they brought it to me.
I am pretty reasonable, but if I judge that I need to be audacious, I go there.
After much thought, we regret to inform you that a major reduction or suspension of the Sierra Times will take place as of 12:00 am December 20, 2003 after almost 4 years on the Internet.
Key Reason: J.J. Johnson has accepted a full time position as News Director of a local television station. I have been active in this position for the past two weeks. The position officially starts full time Jan 2, 2004. After lengthy discussion, it has been decided NOT to entirely shut down this web site. Our goal is to strive for complete automation, allowing an administrator to authorize news links, articles, important information, and event notices. Please bear with us while we make the necessary changes until that time.
All accounts payable will be satisfied by January 19, 2004 - 4 years after this publication. All links shall remain active on the Sierra Times. The Sierra Times domain name shall remain active and under the control on J.J. Johnson Enterprises, Inc.
This hurts, but it doesn't. I believe over the long haul, That Ol' News Ranch, Sierra Times did its job. We became a launch pad for dozens of great writers, and great web sites. We broke a lot of news stories. kept a lot of people informed. Media IS changing, and the internet had a lot to do with it. There is too much of a market for mass media to give just one side of the story anymore.
I wish I had time to say thank you to each of you one on one, but I did talk with some of you. I thank everyone for their efforts. And by the way... I never said I was leaving the internet... Cmon - I'm still in the news business. But me and the ranch hands have to move on...
Sincerely, J.J. Johnson
Now, unless you are man enough to make an appointment for real life face to faces,
No, Mike, there will be none of that.
You escalated with the first mention of violence and you've taken this unseemly exchange as far as it needs to go.
And, your saber rattling notwithstanding, it's not your way to assault anyone.
And, like it or not your indignation is not justification for violence against another.
Then shut up, dumb shit, and move your fossil tail along from your pointless gum flapping.
The Bible was written yesterday, but people have worshiped God as long as there have been people.
Yeah, the Bible is full of examples, like those who built an iron furnace to Molech and threw their live babies into it to appease their god.
We are also told that the heart is a treacherous organ, and leads us whereever we wish to go, which is usually against the wishes of Almighty God, which is why we are told to study His word, that He will find us acceptable.
This I do know for a fact; the Bible does change your life. It has changed the life of everyone I have ever known who did a true study of it. Take that or leave it as you wish.
When a man who is honestly mistaken hears the truth, he will either quit being mistaken or cease to be honest.
FM,
You might wonder about this, but I have seen you post threats before.
I am not fooled by you in the least.
Your personal stories are very intersting, and I appreciate you sharing them. A lot of us have stories too.
You have an agenda, and that which does not serve all people, but some payback thing. You behave as if you are a tool for the elite. You have the perfect profile for such. You put it out there all the time.
I just am an observer. However, the people you support are cancers to liberty and freedom. That can not be denied.
For that, you will probably continue to find resistance.
You want to keep it up for the sake of a cause, you'll find that your cause will be discarded like trash, when they are finished with you.
There's only one great cause. When it reaches into your heart where the good resides, and you know it, it will reach others too.
That said, carry on. Make this another worthless argument. You won't win it. Winning is for the elite, and they LOVE the help.
