WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Retired U.S. Gen. Colin Powell, a former secretary of state in the Bush administration, on Sunday endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. In an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press," Powell backed Obama over fellow Republican John McCain, calling the Democratic nominee a "transformational figure" who could be an "exceptional president." Powell said he plans to vote for Obama in the November 4 election but does not intend to campaign for the Illinois senator as Obama and McCain enter the final weeks of their battle for the White House. Powell, who served in the military and government for 40 years, said he is not looking for a job in an Obama administration. However, he said, "I've always said if a president asks you to do something, you have to consider it." McCain, appearing on "Fox News Sunday," said Powell's support of Obama did not come as a surprise and said four other secretaries of state had endorsed him. In picking Obama over McCain, Powell said either "man would be a good president." Powell praised Obama's "depth of knowledge" and "steadiness," while he was critical of what he described as McCain's uncertainty over how to deal with economic crisis. Powell also voiced concern about McCain's selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate. "She is a very distinguished woman and she is to be admired," Powell said. "But ... I don't believe she is ready to be president of the United States."

In case you've forgotten, Powell is the pig who sold the Iraqi war to the American people. Who can forget that comical UN Step n' Fetchet routine. He should be in jail w/Perle, Wolfowitz, Cheney and Rumsfeld. Powell gives the name House nigger a new meaning.

It is a scary thought. The fucker has been selling America's participation in illegal wars since Vietnam. He's a war pig deluxe.
the big problem is, once hormuz is closed, that 15 million barrels a day wont be going on the market, and god only knows what will happen to the price of oil. it could be that a black president would make a good scapegoat... or it could be that obama would have enough balls to resist efforts to attack iran... and it could be that, once the attack takes place, the price of oil goes through the roof and lynch mobs start forming in america, he'd have balls enough to start calling spades spades... an admitted long shot, given the power of the israel lobby. on the other hand, it's probably not possible to overestimate likud paranoia. but israel has to close hormuz, preferably by suckering america into doing it... israelis have convinced themselves that they have a 4000-year history in palestine, so they may be looking way down the line, way after the oil runs out, and they have to secure israel before the oil runs out... and they'd just as soon be the oil hub of the middle east as the oil is running out. not to mention the fact that if global warming turns out to be the real deal, israelis will need the palestinians' high ground in the west bank... maybe not this century, but again, these people have convinced themselves that they own that land... not to mention, if they continue on with this ashkenazi supremacism shit, and continue to work the way they have historically, they will need a permanent refuge of last resort.

i guess one fallback position, if the PNAC project completely runs out of steam, would be race wars in america that would justify martial law... and there will have to be some mechanism in place to control the disintegration so america can be properly looted as it falls apart.

i think that obama is the catalyst to incite race wars that will bring on martial law. there's already much talk of the national guard units in various states being stripped of their weaponry so as not to be able to protect the american people.
so you are justifying the resistance to obama on this board as an attempt to stave off potential race wars in america. very good
i'm not trying to justify what anyone else posts on this board. merely expressing what i think is coming. my belief is that both candidates are owned and controlled by the same global masters whose plan is the destruction of america.
here's what i think is happening... i think most sensible people in the world decided, somewhere along the line, that america had to be destroyed because it's been too successful in promoting a very wasteful way of life. now that peak oil is probably here, now that the co2 concentrations have risen to the point that massive arctic thawing may arrive soon ---with the methane releases that will really screw things up--- the situation has come to a head. these people must have decided that telling people the truth was politically impossible, especially in view of the israel problem, the holyhoax, israeli control of american media and politics, and the need to secure israel before everything goes to hell in a handbasket. it's hard to say how far up the ladder the 9/11 operation went, but 9/11 and the "war on terror" are sure to result in the destruction of america, seeing as how the only chance we would have had would have been to muster our resources to convert to alternate sources of energy. we are now wasting those resources in an attempt to secure israel and control oil. . well, that's just how it goes... and maybe the wise men decided there was no other way to do it. i would much rather have been told the truth, back in 1970 when american oil production peaked.
Yeah, right. "Peak oil" is a scam. Oil is continuously created under the earth's crust. Ever hear of the abiotic oil theory? You might want to check that out. Or maybe not, if you choose to believe Al Gore's stupid fairy tales.
please post production figures from confirmed "abiotic" oil wells. please explain why ukraine is dependent on russia for oil and gas, seeing as how ukraine, along with russia, was the birthplace of abiotic oil theory. please explain why russia itself has apparently peaked (again). please explain why all producing oil wells are found within traditional sedimentary basins, and please dont trot out the vietnamese white tiger field, since it's been proven that white tiger oil has biogenic markers from nearby sedimentary source rock. please explain why oil companies are drilling sedimentary basins under 10,000 feet of water, and 20,000 more feet of dirt under that, when there's so much abiotic oil in, for instance, the igneous rock under oregon. please explain why thomas gold's abiotic drilling efforts in sweden were a total failure.
