I own one piece of digital camo. I didn't buy it for its usefulness as camo, but for its warmth and good price. It's more of a work jacket. I don't know that I would ever own a piece of digital camo for camo purposes and here's why:
A square is a shape that rarely if ever occurs in nature.
Say I wanted a better way to spot my enemies in the woods and I had an unlimited budget, and I know that as I go with camo, much of the world will follow, I would design a pattern that is very effective for my troops, but that can also be electronically recognized from a mile away, by my own troops, using equipment designed to find squares where none should be.
If the technology didn't precede the design of the camo, I am certain it will eventually follow it.
