McCain supporter robbed, assaulted By Jill King Greenwood A knife-wielding man robbed a McCain-Palin campaign volunteer and etched a “B” into her face after he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the woman’s car, Pittsburgh police said. Ashley Todd, 20, of College Station, Texas, was using an ATM at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street in Bloomfield just before 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man approached her, put a knife to her throat and demanded $60, police said. Todd handed the man $60 she had in her pocket and stepped away from him, investigators said. The man then noticed the bumper sticker on the woman's car, which was parked in front of the ATM. The man became very angry, made comments to Todd about John McCain and punched her in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground, police said. "He continued to kick and punch her repeatedly and said he would teach her a lesson for supporting John McCain," said police Chief Nate Harper. The man then carved the "B" into Todd's right cheek. Todd, who isn't familiar with the area, drove to a friend's house nearby and told her friend she wasn't sure of the exact location where the robbery took place but remembered a green sign above the ATM. The friend called police and the officer met them on Cypress Street in Bloomfield, police said. Todd's friend offered to drive her back in the direction she came from to look at ATMs until she found the right one, police said. A police officer followed until Todd pointed out a Citizens Bank ATM at Liberty and Pearl, police said. She declined medical treatment at the scene and said she would go to a hospital today. Todd declined to comment. "She is a volunteer for the McCain-Palin campaign," said campaign spokesman Peter Feldman. "Sen. McCain has reached out to her via telephone and has spoken to her and her family,” as has McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Feldman said. “Out of respect for her privacy we're not going to comment further." Democrat Barack Obama's campaign released a statement saying: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice." Police described the suspect as black, about 6-foot-4, and said he was wearing dark-colored jeans and a black undershirt. Rather odd that for real or a hoax or whatever, both candidates seem to be well aware of it but MSM refuses to headline or banner it. We all know what would be the headlines were the roles reversed. Recall the Duke thing.
What reason does inner city black America have to be upset? If they are self-destructive, aren't they responsible for the situation they find themselves in today? Now with Affirmative Action in place, any black child or teen who maintains a B- average can easily get a free ride at a private school or elite college, institutions that like to meet their quota of minorities so they can get their accreditation renewed/get extra points in the USA Today annual listing of top colleges. I would agree that older blacks who suffered greatly from racism during pre-Civil Rights era have good reasons for feeling upset. But young blacks today have many opportunities offered to them that are not offered to non-blacks. All young blacks need to do today is keep out of legal trouble and get minimally average grades at school and they can write their own ticket out of the ghettos. Yes, people are always responsible for their own condition. However, Black America has been attacked and degraded in subtle ways without realizing they were under attack. Without writing a long essay, which I would have go dig references for, the short answer is that Black America - particularly inner city has been the object of a prolonged PsyOps Program aimed at creating what we have now - a marginalized and dysfunctional sub-culture. As I alluded to in my above post - following the murder of Dr. King - Lyndon Bane Johnson helped to push through "give-away" programs which were a Trojan Horse. The result of the give-away programs was predictable, and engineered. Welfare programs that penalized an intact family unit resulted in the break-up of the Black Family, the drug culture - pushed by the CIA and it's Psychiatrists - was planted to further disrupt, and Food Stamps made it possible, along with subsidized/free housing, to not work and achievement nearly unnecessary. You will note that one of the constant complaints about the inequity of those programs is that it is much easier for a Black Person than a White Person to get on them. That is by intent as they were intended as a means to neuter and render less powerful Black America's drive for equality. Now we have a culture implanted with the notion, a destructive one, that to get educated and to speak correct english is "acting white" and so to not "act white" ebonics and illiteracy are "in". It is a very sick scene which has been perpetrated upon Black America. There are other facets and one could go into more detail but that is the bare thumbnail.

I wouldn't call it the "left" per se - although they were co-opted into the program and are largely a bunch of guilt ridden suckers. The programs that were so successful at destroying the Civil Rights Movement and Black America are now being applied to White America with devastating effect. The short answer is that people with low levels of literacy also have low levels of knowledge i.e., they are ignorant in the non-perjorative sense. People who are ignorant have no knowledge base to inform them and they are thus more easily the prey of those selling snake oil. Semi-literate people jammed through an education system that enforces tunnel vision i.e., specialized degrees results in people very knowledgable about less and less and hence they as well are functionally ignorant beyond their narrow sphere. Thusly you wind up with people working on Wall Street to whom it was a complete surprise to find out that the Federal Reserve is as Federal as Federal Express.

you might throw in there, also, the work of the advertising agencies. once the people are dumbed down, once they become dependent on television, they are exposed to the work of madison avenue. if you've ever tried to follow the logic of a commercial, you'll realize that logic has nothing to do with selling something... that shit is aimed right at the mammalian brain that houses our instincts, and if can short circuit our new brain, the one that does the real thinking, so much the better. we have to assume that commericals have two aims: first, disable the centers of critical thought and logic, and second, drive straight into the part of the brain where our basic instincts lie.

I think (know) swelling of ruptured tissue occurs within ninety minutes to a few hours, like two, or much less, of the original injury. The reason is that the vascular system is ruptured and the bloodstream floods into the region of the injury. Causing fairly immediate swelling of the sensitive area around the eye, which is well supplied with blood, so the swelling would have happened quickly. It is unreasonable to believe the photo would have been taken quickly after the alleged assault. Maybe I am wrong. Too bad the MSM has destroyed its credibility - it is not my fault.

Maybe you think it's perfectly ok. I think comes from a lesser intelligence or consciousness. I'm sorry to see it here in such a majority. A. I wouldn't call it a majority. B. Free speech is just that free speech. Protecting the speech of those with whom we violently disagree is necessary for their to be truly free speech. Frankly I look at it and note it as the irrationality that it is and comment where I see necessary. However, having it out in the open also makes it easier to combat where it occurs, BUT I think most thinking adults have gained enough knowledge to recognize, even when they speak wrongly, that racism and bigotry are false idols. As well people identify with those groups to whom they feel members and tend to oppose or remain neutral on those they don't. It is always acceptable to root for the "Home Team" and most do - whatever that "Home Team" might be. Catcalls at the other side of a debate can be acceptable, and must be allowed for open debate, if they remain civil - however ill-founded they might be. Vituperation achieves nothing, not that I can't be snotty, but I always grant people the right to their own opinions even when I disagree and think them ignoramuses.
