I would expect the mother has successfully met all the requirements of the educational system under the auspice of the Department of Education and its 56 billion dollar budget. Excellent use of our money. I did not question its authenticity due to its unusual creativity. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! A school teacher friend sent this to me. This is a child's name! "Le - a" How would you pronounce this as a child's name??? This child attends a school in Livingston Parish. (Louisiana) Her mother is irate because everyone is getting her name wrong. SO, if you see something come across your desk like this please remember to pronounce the dash. When the mother was asked about the pronunciation of the name, she said "the dash don't be silent."
Leah?? NO Lee - A?? NOPE Lay - a?? NO Lei?? Guess Again.

A few years back, our family attended a small mixed-race church in our neighborhood. There was a wonderful old black man in the congregation there: hunched over, kind, and very eloquent. Dude's name was Money Snow. Said his dad named the kids according to things he (his dad) wanted. I always called him "Mister Snow" or "Brother Snow", 'cuz I sorta felt that calling him Money was demeaning.

About 10 years ago my neice was working in a medical office down in Winston- Salem N.C.. As the patient came in, they wrote their name on a paper and took a seat til called to their respective doctor. One well tanned lady came in with a little boy and wrote Shithead on the paper and took a seat. My neice counted how many names were on the sheet before this persons name. When they got to within 1 name of this person, my neice decided to take her morning break. She did not want to be the one to have to call that boy's name. When that patient's name was next, one of the other office girls called out shit head. The boy's mother got extremely mad almost to violence and told that office worker the child's name was pronounced sha theed. Why would some mother name her child something that was so embarrassing when mispronounced. I guess some airheaded stupid mother who thought the name was cute.
