Whack job? You betcha!

By DOUG THOMPSON

Senior aides to Sen. John McCain tell reporters his flakey running mate is "a whack job."

A couple of days earlier, those same aides called her "a diva."

And a couple of days earlier, they said she had "gone rogue."

Ah, you gotta love the smell of death on a political morning. With less than a week to go, the flies and buzzards are already gathering around the dying campaign of John McCain and Sarah Palin.

I worked in Republican politics long enough to know the symptoms. The smell of death has descended on the Republican National Committee and the finger pointing has started. When the debacle masquerading as the 2008 Presidential campaign is finally put out of the nation's misery the post mortems will point to two failed, brain-dead candidates for the two highest offices in the land: John McCain, whose brain succumbed to Alzheimers too long ago, and Sarah Palin, whose sub-level IQ may qualify her as a frat party favor but little else.

Palin's invitation to the party seemed to pick up a little support until she opened her mouth. No one with any sense of geo-politics could seriously consider Palin in the Oval Office.

McCains loss is intentional !

Okay...

That goes back to "qualifications" and if one researches history it tells us that the most "qualified" most always turned out to be disasters for the country.

It is the decisions one makes while IN office that remain, not before.

Here's what I said "When Palin stumbled onto the scene babbling the neo-con pro- war agenda like a singing parrot" ... Actually, I thought she was a good idea in the beginning ... I WAS WRONG and SO ARE YOU.

Look at what's happening here right now. She's dividing the conservative side of the paradigm. None of us is supportive of Obama !

Wrong about what????

I do not support anyone, in any fashion. (cept Sarah as a gurl)

Politics is a two edged sword. Campaigning AGAINST one is actually support for the other. I would love to call McCain names other than loser but in doing so I would be propping up Obama, and the reverse is true.

This election will be decided by race, regardless of the loser that wins. Politics and stupidity of Palin and Biden will NOT be the determining factor.

You are the last one I would have expected to turn personal but if you feel better demeaning my olde age, so be it. I will not take umbrage.

I am sure you are an honorable person and intended that comment as humor; however, regretably, it presents itself as tawdry, demeaning, and not worthy of you. An apology will be forthcoming, most likely. Best wishes to all of us - we'll surely need them.
