I'm scared about Tuesday. I think something may happen.
Well, it's looking like Obama has a good chance of being elected, in which case there will be a long sigh of relief, even joy, for a lot of people, and consternation for others who think the sky will fall, which it won't.
The only way McCaca wins is if he cheats, like Bush and company did, twice. The Repubes are doing their best to purge voters, intimidate, mis-inform, a good bit of which is illegal. The great promoters of democracy seem to have to resort to voter suppression most every election now....
If the latter does happen, there will be a serious fuss for a while, and I hope the Dems don't cave this time.
No riots, maybe some rowdy celebrations, back to business-as-usual by the end of the week is what I expect. I'm more afraid of what Bush and company will do in the last three months of this disastrous administration

When has christine ever moderated in a heavy handed manner that would suggest that she has encouraged a double-standard for posts by conservatives and neocons vs liberals or is there any evidence whatsoever that christine supports or condones an insider clique-ish discussion board environment with newbies or minority position posters being treated as second class members?

Actually, you are wrong. When an apocalyptic group expected the end of the world, some of them went home to die at the end of the world with family, and others stayed together to die with their cult mates.
Those who stayed together reacted to the end of the world not happening by rationalizing and figuring out if mist happen later, and that their belief system was sound, but they had gotten the day wrong.
Those who went home were helped to see they were deluded and most of them recovered from having belonged to this group which is still in existence.
Here in forum, you have everyone rationalizing the impossible and not diverging from the most common thread of thought here. Everyone helps everyone else here shield their little piece of the communal house of cards against the winds of reality's wrath.

I can be stubborn, nasty and I have no social hungers that effect me when some shun. I have learned to notch up to return fire for fire sent my way, and to be just as stubborn and stoic as I need to be to post.

a. You're getting melodramatic. I know you have probably suffered hurt feelings from some of the posts but buck up and instead of attacking, why not present new information that supports your position. I took a minority conservative position some months ago on expanding SCHIPS and introducing universal healthcare, and though I was pummeled incessantly by a small group of posters, I stuck to my guns, presenting more articles of support for my position than they did for theirs and eventually I think I won over a few fence sitting people to my side of the debate. Everyone is rather emotional now because of the nearness of the election.
b. No one has ever expressed the desire - that I've read at least - to run you off the board or to ask for you to be banned. I recall christine the moderator of this board praising you for your articulate posts. And I personally have always valued your input and I would be one of your strongest supporters against anyone trying give cause for you to leave.
