Guess who doesn't want a flu shot? Thousands of health care workers. According to the Associated Press, well over half of all nurses, doctors, EMS personnel, and other health care workers take a pass on getting a yearly flu vaccine. Now let's think about this… They have easy access to the vaccine. They don't have to put on their coat, drive somewhere, and stand in line. I'm sure for most of them there's no charge for the shot. And you can be certain their employers strongly encourage them to get the shot, because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that ALL health care workers be vaccinated. So why do so many say no? According to a 2006 UCLA/Harvard survey, health care workers say they're concerned about flu shot side effects, they believe their immune systems are strong enough to fight off the flu, and they don't believe the flu shot works. Now where would they get an idea like that? Well, some of them may have picked it up from Dr. Tom Jefferson, a researcher who's led several flu vaccine studies. Here's a quote from Dr. Jefferson that appeared in the British Medical Journal: "The vaccine doesn't work very well at all. What you see every year as the flu is caused by 200 or 300 different agents with a vaccine against two of them. That is simply nonsense." What's NOT nonsense? Strengthening your immune system. And you know the drill: Exercise. Get plenty of sleep. Eat unprocessed, nourishing foods. Avoid sweets and junk foods. Reduce stress. Sure – easier said than done, but that's the way to do it. I have reason to believe that a flu shot was what pushed my mother into a death spiral. Not saying she was healthy, but from the shot on, there was no good news.

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end. The last one I had was about 10 years ago - from my Mother's Oncologist Office. Prior to that it was about '78. I do not see what good they do and they are so contaminated - along with Mercury in them - that I see no positives and a lot of negatives.

Last year they came right out and admitted that the flu shot was the wrong one and offered no protection against the most dangerous flu that frightened folks into scurrying into shot clinics. It's little more than a primitive superstition to believe that the shot will offer any meaningful protection against the numerous strains every season, especially when it's the wrong one for the killer flu that folks read of and are most concerned about! And, it was the winter of 70-71 when my mother almost died from the flu which struck her low immediately after she received the shot, and she was sick and near death's door for a month. It was the most pernicious flu she had ever fought off in her life! Later there was a low keyed announcement that the shot was a live strain instead of an attenuated (dead) one and it actually killed more people than the flu that season. In other words, people who may not have been exposed at all were vaccinated with a live flu, and because those who seek the shot are often those who are most at risk (old, weak, sickly) the result was more deaths of those who took the shot than those who contacted the flu through ordinary communicable disease vectors. Years ago the senior game warden in my state contacted me because he had a problem. He hadn't received his scheduled rabies booster and he was specifically charged with the trapping and relocation of problem beavers. He was definitely at risk more than other agents because beavers carry rabies and they can be highly aggressive when trapped and released. (Actually the secret policy was "shoot shovel and shut up" because after a couple of years there was no place left to release them.) "Maryland want some more beavers?" ""No thanks, got plenty!" I was the unofficial ombudsman/troubleshooter for our fish & wildlife agents because of my friendship with the big shots in Dover and the enforcement agents who do a great job despite being the second lowest paid in the US. The bureaucrats won't lie to me if there's any possibility that the truth will eventually come to me, so I can get answers. As it turned out nearly all states have pretty much discontinued the practice of prophylactic inoculations against rabies because the adverse side effects now outweigh the benefits. When more people were sickened or disabled from the shots than from actually contracting rabies they realized that they had reached a point of diminishing returns and the shots were doing more harm than good. So, my state no longer pays to inoculate state workers who were previously monitored (titer tests) and inoculated as needed. Because rabies can be successfully treated after a possible exposure it makes no sense to risk injuring employees for little benefit. (It did the most good for people who may have been exposed without knowing it. But, there just aren't enough of those cases to justify shots for tens of thousands of people nationwide. Statistically, they don't even blip on the big screen) _____________ If there was ever a case when the risks vs the benefits were seriously out of balance it is with the annual flu shots in The US. (Followed closely by Bush requiring ground maintenance workers on military bases in the US to take ANTHRAX shots to enrich his buddies at DRUGCO INTERNATIONAL, LLC) But, unfortunately, flu shots are a platinum mine for Big Pharma, medical corporations, drug stores and ancillary health care providers and services, so, until the funeral pyres of the bodies of inoculated victims light up the evening skies we shouldn't expect any meaningful efforts to end the practice of scare marketing of the flu shots in The US. I've predicted that the govt will use the flu shot to lighten the rolls of social security, Medicare, Medicaid, AFDC, etc., recipients. All of the drug manufacturers have been immunized against legal liability (including the pandemic of childhood autism resulting from mercury {thimerosal} in vaccines) and all govt employees enjoy absolute immunity for intentionally killing Americans. (a policy that was firmed up and clarified with the Tuskegee Syphilis Study) So, it's just a matter of timing the catastrophe for maximum benefit to those who intend to throw off the shackles of public service and take the crowns of public masters. If seniors suddenly wise up and start to rebel against the govt's political/financial shenanigans then the timetable will be immediately moved up and seniors, infants, hospital patients and those with compromised immune systems will start to drop like flies.

I don't remember what year it was but that is exactly what they did to me, gave me a shot with live flu in it. And I got the worst case of flu I ever had in my life, thought I was going to die for sure. Couldn't pay me to take another one.

You're preachin' to the choir, Reverend. Never have never will. Every time I try to enlighten some health care providers they tilt their heads and go "hmm", and either block out facts that they can't reconcile or offer up chickenshit excuses like "Well, it may help fight off other strains because of...blah blah...." I get irritated with people who repeat religious dogma while trying to convince me that it's hard science.

Don't blame anyone for not taking them and if anyone asked me I would advise against it. I think it is best to just go ahead and take your chances with the flu. You* may not even get it and if you do and your immune system is not compromised otherwise it probably won't kill you. Their shots could though. *You in the sense of anyone, not you in particular.

I know, but where I get my info from them is from their newsletter, and it does not exist, to the best of my knowledge, in the internet.
