You cannot make a dog hate you, only fear you. You can make a dog love you, to the extent dogs can love, merely by being nice to them, petting them, playing with them, and feeding them.

You can easily make a human hate you forever, but you cannot make a human love you, no matter what you do. Not that people ever stop trying.

So...dogs are better than people.

Best test I know of... leave your wife and the dog in car for hour then watch who is more happy to see you on your return

Interesting. I never figured out how to keep the woman in the car that long if she was of mind to exit the vehicle. Women do have opposing digits on their mitts, unlike dogs.

So, what do you do, bribe them, or handcuff them to the steering wheel to keep them there?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Having been raised in the bush I can tell you animals are more predictable than humans....sad but true I prefer the company of things with four legs than two...and if you have not noticed in previous posts I have a "women" problem so I can't answer your question

Oh oh. One woman is enough to handle for any one man, but women as in plural can present a very great challenge, indeed, and often a very costly one too.

I have lived a some what stress free life for the past few decades by learning to limit my exposure to women on a daily bases this will not win me any new friends here but what the heck same thing happens when I call for a repeal of the 19th amendment

Same here. I'd vote for Karen Kwiatkowski (sp?) in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd vote for Cynthia McKinney would she but demonstrate a firm grasp of and commitment to individual liberty.

Wouldn't a Ron Paul / Karen Kwiatkowski ticket been awesome? Makes me sad.

I am with Christine here Robbie.

I see and deal with crazy, or tremendously uninformed or dramatically uneducated, men and women everyday, and the rational ones, are the minority.

Don't sleep with anyone crazier than you are.

Really limits the options, I'll agree.

Having been raised in the bush I can tell you animals are more predictable than humans....

I think you are right on that.

Except for Grizzly Bears in N America. Polar Bears I guess AS well.

They seem to be highly intelligent and therefore unpredictible in what their next action will be, rather like humans, IMVHO.

The rest of the animals are follow the script in their program, Grizz's seem to think.

There is a reason I have this opinion, and it was an close encounter to a massive Grizz in Canada.

It was a bit like meeting the Increadible Hulk in person.

Black Bears are more like huge raccoons that can hurt you, but,as you say, they are predictable.

Not so the Grizz.

Is There Really a Bias Against Women in Politics? History Suggests Otherwise

By John R. Lott, Jr.

Academics have for some time pondered why the government started growing precisely when it did. The federal government, aside from periods of wartime, consumed about 2 to 3 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) up until World War I. That was the first war in which government spending didn’t go all the way back down to its pre-war levels. Then in the 1920s, non-military federal spending began steadily climbing.

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal - often viewed as the genesis of big government - really just continued an earlier trend. What changed before Roosevelt came to power that explains the growth of government? The answer is women’s suffrage.

For decades, polls have shown that women as a group vote differently than men. Without the women’s vote, Republicans would have swept every presidential race but one between 1968 and 2004.

The gender gap exists on various issues. The major one is the issue of smaller government and lower taxes, which is a much higher priority for men than for women. This is seen in divergent attitudes held by men and women on many separate issues.

Women were much more opposed to the 1996 federal welfare reforms, which mandated time limits for receiving welfare and imposed some work requirements on welfare recipients. Women are also more supportive of Medicare, Social Security and educational expenditures.

Studies show that women are generally more risk-averse than men. This could be why they are more supportive of government programs to ensure against certain risks in life.
