Yesterday, in Powell's endorsement of Obama, we get about as clear an example as possible of how the two parties are used to advance the exact same policies but using different rhetoric. What we saw yesterday was essentially the recasting of "conservatives" and "liberals" with molds previously used about 40 years ago. Colin Powell endorsed Barak Obama. Why did he endorse Barak Obama? Was it because of any inherit differences between him and McCain over policy? No. There are none of any interest or significance to anyone but obsessive single issue hair splitters. No. Powell supposedly endorsed Obama because he is "troubled" by the descent of the GOP into rank bigotry and overt unhidden generalized racism directed towards Arabs and Muslims. Powell cited an example of how GOP rhetoric was insulting to Muslims by using a dead American Muslim soldier who died in Iraq- rebuking the GOP for their rather odious and not infrequent (not to mention stupid) appeals to hatred for Arabs and Muslims in general. OK, I wish I could say Powell is wrong here. I wish I could say that the ranks of the GOP are not populated by morons who think Arabs, when not murdering their sisters in Honor killings are busy sawing the heads off of blond babies and who are two steps away from instituting Sharia Law all over the country - but I would be lying. That is what the ranks of the GOP are populated by. Kook bigoted ignorant coward boobs. So what will Obama do differently then? Well- he won't sound like the Kook bigoted ignorant coward boobs of the GOP. That is pretty much the difference. See- the "liberal" position will be that yes- Muslims can be a part of the Warfare/Welfare state just as much as a "real A-Merican" Rapture Nutting, Israel Firsting, Kook who votes for the GOP! And that is about it. THAT is the big difference. Policy changes or shifts regarding foreign policy? Nope. None. So let me sum up the big difference between the GOP and the Dems: The Dems will continue the exact same policies almost to the letter but using different rhetoric. See the "liberals" will "celebrate the diversity" of "Islam" while invading and occupying and murdering them. While the GOP prefers to call them sub human rats using rhetoric not dissimilar from that used by Nazis for Jews before invading and occupying and murdering them. Make no mistake. That IS a big deal to GOPERS. They really can't stand it when anyone says anything nice about the dirt people Mooooslims they despise so much and for no reason other than propaganda as their first hand experience of the hated devil Muslim of their dope minds is about nil. It really matters to them if distant national leaders say nice things about even more distant third worlders they know next to nothing about. Meanwhile - those who fancy themselves urban cosmopolitan sophisticates (which is anyone who watches Oprah) will recoil at horror toward the over the top Dumb Dumb hate rhetoric of the GOP and run into the arms of the "liberal" Dems who will save us all from the rule of the benighted dope White Wing that populates the GOP- while actually DOING NOTHING DIFFERENT FROM THEM ON POLICY. So that is our choice. Dems who will send out Ramadan cards to Muslim leaders around the world before bombing them or GOPERS who will seethe and hiss "Die dirty rat Muslim" before bombing them. And the fraud marches on . . . .

I wish someone interviewing Powell would come out and ask "General Powell, why won't you admit that the only reason you're not supporting John McCain is that you want to see a President who looks like you." Then imagine the sputtering and excuses that follow. Regardless, the fact that people like Powell, Lieberman, and so on can switch from Dem to Repub and back again shows just how fake the ideological "opposition" between the two really is.
