It is a simple question. Some people advocate not voting or voting third party. If you do that and Obama is elected and turns out to be a terrible dictator far worse then Bush. Are those people responsible for sitting on their hands and not voting? To a much lesser degree what about the thrid party voters. Would they have "wasted" their vote and come to regret it. Can we blame them for not voting McCain and at least trying to stop Obama. I suspect that if Obama is elected and these people who didn't vote may have some regret at some time in the future. Still undecided here. I guess I'll have to decide tomorrow.

I think that I have Obama all figured out. Both his drooling fans and his biggest critics take him for more than what he really is. He's a tool and prop of the DNC, a new version Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, or Joe Biden who was picked to project an image of "innovation" and "change" on account of his youth and skin color, and to neutralize the anti-war wing of the Left with empty promises in the primaries. In fact, he's nothing new, he's just another party hack and (supposedly) charismatic mouthpiece for the special interests who back the Democrats. With Obama, we get a younger, blacker Ted Kennedy. With McCain, we get an older and crazier George W. Bush.
That's why I enjoy reading posted articles or posting articles I find on Obama - McCain is a known quantity but Obama is still buyer beware quantity. What you said there is what I find to be frightening about Obama. All the unknowns. This guy came out of nowhere. At least McCain things will stay pretty much the same. Are you all doing ok? With Obama who knows what the hell will happen. Who knows we could even be pleasantly surprised (I don't think that but you never know).
After one more trip to the 'banker' and then to the 'gunsmith', I plan to start. ;-)

I consider the Free Republic to be ground zero for the Republican party. I opposed NAFTA/GATT and was promptly shown the door by the free traders. As it turns out, I was right and they were wrong, yet they still cling to internationalism, interventionism and globalism.

McCain is similar to W if you mean nothing much will change from the way things are. As I read more about Obama's speeches and his positions, I'm not sure he is simply a party hack and tool. Obama has a very big ego, a very grand sense of his self-importance. Do you think Obama will just do as he is told by the DNC party movers and shakers? Right now he's playing ball - Rahm will be his Chief of Staff and possibly Dennis Ross will be his National Security Advisor, etc - because he wants the Dem Party's support to win the Oval Office. But after Obama doesn't need the support of the DNC machinery anymore, who knows. Obama had no hesitation previously to throw friends, mentors, and associates under the bus when he didn't need them anymore - eg. Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Alice Palmer, Professor Rashid Khalidi... Sometimes being controlled is better than being a loose cannon.
What you say was just as true of Bill Clinton, who had a huge ego to feed and who did a lot more than just cut old friends and associates loose when he didn't need them - he had them killed. Still, Clinton remained a party hack in following the party line on economics and foreign policy. He could promote himself and boost his ego all he likes, but he still needs to remember who butters his bread: people like Marc Rich, George Soros, etc. That's why Obama will give Wall Street and AIPAC everything they want too. There won't be any more political surprises with him than there were with Clinton.

The houses are out of our price range and I know for a fact most of them are pubby voters because I have the pubbie voter registration lists we used on behalf of Ron Paul. Guess what we saw a lot of and what we hardly saw at all? There were probably 45 obanger sicns and we only saw about 6 mcnutz signs. This might not mean anything to outsiders, but Meadville PA and Crawford County are staunch republican. AS Jethro correctly pointed out, the pubbie party alienated its base with the support they have given to comrade bush and his global pals and agenda. What makes you think you are the only smart one here when it comes to casting a vote for President tomorrow? You seem to think it's a vote commitment when posters are debating the issues, when they argue the pro's and con's of the platforms, or when they play devil's advocate. The ONLY hope for the GOP is to get behind Sarah Palin IMMEDIATELY (while trying not to be obviously staring at her behind a la McCain). No other candidate need apply nor should any be allowed to. Sarah needs to be nominated by acclamation for 2012 TODAY, so she can get a head start on the race.

There's not alot of political activity even at the state level. We know little about his formative years except for what he chooses to reveal in his autiobiography. With Obama there's still a good deal to find out and we have only 1 day left.
