That's your definition of community service. There would be much less concern if we were able to meet these requirements with our own definition of community service. What is Obama's definition? Do we know? Shouldn't we care?

True patriots do community service on their own. They do not serve due to Government mandate. Once this becomes a mandate, it is not community service. It is serfdom.

Military service is still voluntary right now. You do not have to put on the uniform and serve so this is a false comparison. We will see how this plays out; the initial verbage sounds a lot like the Income Tax where you will 'volunteer' to pay or you are placed in shackles.

I posted that part of 'the agenda' that has to do with 'service' above. It says that the kids who do 100 hours get $4000 in tuition aid and that they're going to beg the elderly to help a little which many of them do already. I saw no evidence of compulsory voluntary work.

As you may have surmised, I don't trust Government. Not under Bush, not under Obama. As we know, many things start out "voluntary" and then become "compulsory". Only time will tell.
