November 12, 2008 Is This Any Way to Treat Your Deceased ("Typical White") Granny?: When Will Barack Obama Bury Madelyn Dunham?

It's now been over nine full days since Madelyn Payne Dunham--Barack Obama's thrown-under-the-bus "typical White" grandmother who raised him--died.
Yet, still no funeral. That's a pretty odd--not to mention, disrespectful--way to treat a grandmother you claim you love and who raised you, regardless of whether you are President-elect of the United States or just an average citizen. Regardless of whether you told the world she was a "typical White" racist.
It was understandable when Dunham first passed away at about 11:00 p.m. on November 2nd that Obama didn't rush back for a service and burial for his grandmother. He was in the closing days of a Presidential election campaign.
But since then? Nothing. Nada. In fact, mainstream media reports say that Obama doesn't plan to return to Hawaii for his grandmother's funeral until sometime in December. See also here.
That's a pretty long time to keep a body on ice--especially the body of someone you claim to have loved, someone who raised you. But, then again, it's not like he didn't commit other offenses against her, like throwing her under the bus and calling her a racist.
And, hey, Barack Obama has far more important things to do than bury his grandmother. He needed to tour the White House with the Bushes, because, you know, they're only going to be there until mid-January. And then there is that far more important issue of picking the new White House dog for Sasha and Malia.
Priorities.
Now, some might say that what our President-elect does while his grandmother's body continues to await burial for now well over a week, is not our business. And that may be.
But you can tell a lot about a person by the way he treats the dead--especially the dead who are close relatives without whom he would be nothing.
And it certainly says a lot about Barack Hussein Obama that he has yet to make it back to Hawaii to lay his late grandmother to rest.
It's interesting that Barack Obama spoke ad nauseam for the last several years about how we treat our dead soldiers and their families.
Perhaps he should have taken a look in the mirror (for something other than vanity purposes). He doesn't even have the decency to treat his own deceased grandmother with the respect she deserves for raising him.
It makes his all his speechifying about his grandmother a bunch of BS. Trite but true: Actions speak louder than words. And a body continues to await a funeral and burial in Hawaii.
It's creepy to the nth.
If he can't take care of his own grandmother and bury her in a timely respectable manner, why on earth did 63 million of us want him to take care of the country?
Hail to the Chief, Saint Obamessiah. This guy is cold.
