Sarah Palin said Wednesday that she would be honored to help President-elect Barack Obama in his new administration, even if he did hang around with an "unrepentant domestic terrorist." The Alaska governor said in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer that she would be willing to help if Obama asked her for assistance on some of the issues she highlighted during this year's campaign, such as energy or services for special-needs children. "It would be my honor to assist and support our new president and the new administration," said Palin, whom Sen. John McCain chose as his running mate in August. "I speak for other Republicans and Republican governors, also," she said. "They would be willing also to seize this opportunity that we have to progress this nation together, in a united front." That's an association that still bothers me, and I think it's fair to still talk about it," she continued. "However, the campaign is over. That chapter is closed. That is lower than a previous poll, suggesting that favorable opinions of Palin are dropping among Americans. "In early September, just after the GOP convention, her favorable rating among registered voters was 57 percent, and only a quarter of all registered voters had an unfavorable view of her," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. "Palin is less popular than Vice President-elect Joe Biden, with a 64 percent favorable rating, or her boss on the GOP ticket during the just-completed campaign, John McCain, who is seen favorably by 61 percent of the public." The poll also suggests that men have a slightly more positive view of Palin than women, with 51 percent of males viewing her favorably, 3 percentage points higher than female respondents. Forty-one percent of males have an unfavorable opinion of Palin, compared with 45 percent of female survey respondents. Take any six young boys, any six young men, any six middle aged men, leave them to their own devices and the chances for deviltry are great. However, add one female of equal social stature to any group and the chances of deviltry diminishes to near zero. Extend that into politics. I come from an engineering background. I've learned to be very agnostic towards "theories" and am much more interested in "results". From what I've seen, the nations that are the healthiest, wealthiest, best educated, happiest and have the most transparent / least corrupt governments on the planet are... guess what? SOCIALIST. Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden. Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it. I could care less about "theories" and all of that crap. I care about RESULTS. And as of now the RESULTS are in. Norway, Finland, Denmark and Sweden have found the best possible way to go, by practicing "Democratic Socialism". Are they perfect? No. Nothing will ever be perfect. Are they better off than we are? Oh yes, big time. And for everyone who wants to say "But the Soviet Union collapsed", all I can say is "Yeah, and at the rate we're going the US is going to collapse too." Bummer. Looks like the extremes of communism and capitalism both lead to the same destination, a totally eviscerated society incapable of making a decent transistor radio or black and white TV set. Seriously. We, the US of A, can no longer produce a single transistor radio or black and white tube style TV with the old-fashioned twist dials for VHF and UHF. Not now kidding. We shipped our entire manufacturing capacity overseas in the mindless pursuit of "profits uber alles". Zieg Heil! Funny how that worked out. Two diametrically opposed ideologies ended up at exactly the same destination, while the "middle way" of Democratic Socialism turned out to be the best way to limit corruption and provide a decent standard of living to everyone. Well, at least mccain came out in her defense--belatedly, but he did. Thinking on the matter, I don't believe it is only her beliefs that have so many wimmen in a tizzy. I believe a large part is the envy/jealous phenomena. You know, when put in a position where something needs to be said, a woman can tell another one 'nice dress'.....when she could have said, 'you look terrif in that dress'. Catty. Yep. But the complimenter isn't about to tell the gal that SHE looks fantastic--especially not since she either tried on the same dress, or one nearly like it, and found herself wanting in the 'terrific' department. Sarah Palin has a nice body--especially for one having had 5 kids, and her willingness to do what it takes to maintain same nice body; she has good facial and hair features--her skin appears near flawless and her hair is more than ample. EVEN with glasses, she looks great, as they are of a design that actually enhance her eyes! She has a very natural outgoing nature. She speaks well in public, has a sense of humor, and is loyal. Damn.........maybe I should be hating her, too!! Nah.......I look at her as I look at our Chrissie. Brains and beauty combined in one package are great and to be able to call such a combo my friend is greater.
Ferraro was thrown under the bus, Hillary is now under the same bus and it seems Palin will join them shortly.

I'll grant you that blacks, Jews, Third World immigrants represent solid voting blocks for Dems. Catholics used to get swayed on the religion issue - Kennedy - but I don't think that's the case anymore ( Kerry, Biden) because the Catholic politicians running for office believe in abortion as well as partial birth abortion.
