Liberals clinically mad, concludes top psychiatrist

Eminent doctor makes case leftist ideology is a mental disorder

WASHINGTON – Just when liberals thought it was safe to start identifying themselves as such, an acclaimed, veteran psychiatrist is making the case that the ideology motivating them is actually a mental disorder.

"Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, "The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness." "Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave."

While political activists on the other side of the spectrum have made similar observations, Rossiter boasts professional credentials and a life virtually free of activism and links to "the vast right-wing conspiracy."

For more than 35 years he has diagnosed and treated more than 1,500 patients as a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases as a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. He received his medical and psychiatric training at the University of Chicago.

Rossiter says the kind of liberalism being displayed by both Barack Obama and his Democratic primary opponent Hillary Clinton can only be understood as a psychological disorder.

"A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity – as liberals do," he says. "A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population – as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation's citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state – as liberals do."

Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

"The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind," he says. "When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious."

Poster Comment:

Throw the Democrat Socialist Globalist Juan McNutz in there too. The Repubicans are infested with trash too. Not to the same degree of course (The RAT Wing is completely honeycombed with Socialists/Communists), but getting there. I don't buy into psychiatry as a whole, fwiw. (1 image)

I've read it, actually. Dr. Lyle Rossiter contends that liberalism is a psychological disorder in that liberals allegedly “rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave.”

He contends there is a preying on weakness and insecurities in the population by “rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government” that liberals are allegedly guilty of.

Rossiter characterizes modern liberals as “whining about imaginary villains,” depicting them as neurotic. Of course we were told by the Bush Administration that, “You’re either with us or against us?” Wasn’t this conservative government repeatedly insisting they’ve been saving us from being attacked?

His premise is that caring about others is infantilizing. If liberal can be seen as a psychological disturbance, would not the conservative agenda qualify as narcissistic? You can't say liberals are nuts without recognizing that by doing so you maintain all players in American politics are nuts, and perhaps what he talks about in regards to liberals a response to conservative policies and agendas.

Frankly, where there is allegedly a problem or grace with liberals, the same exists in the conservative realm too, as sickness and wellness is systemic to all the players in the entire population of the United States. Much as is recognized that an abusive alcoholic is not an isolated sickness in a family, as the entire family is sick and all are affected by the problems of the one.

No one group on the political spectrum in the United States has a monopoly on faults or graces, and this guy does a great job trying to examine the bark of one tree inches from his nose.

Unfortunately, this vantage point denies him the perspective of what is true about the entire forest.

You are the one expressing no tolerance for other viewpoints or belief systems.

Merely taunting without the meat of an argument behind it to back it up is hard to take seriously. I submit it is you, not I would has issues with the freedoms and protections guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

If you are angry with the results of this election, have the decency and character to buckle down to the fight to change things. One of the central notions of the U.S. Constitution is the aspect of how elements of the government act as a check and balance to keep people honest as well as to create opportunities to exercise power.

This document was written that way because the Founding Fathers had a keen eye as to how this sort of system of checks and balances works in the general population as the competition for ideas and ideology creates a winning result that benefits everyone.

If one ideology and faction destroys all the others, they injure themselves as much as they do so to anyone else. Nothing exists in a vacuum in this world or the United States, and all factions and ideologies need each other just as much as they create the struggle for power and influence as to how things are done or will be.

Show some personal responsibility here and compete rather then to advocate conquest. Destroying others to create the monopoly of one faction in government and society is not constitutional, and the poison of fascism deadly to everyone, including the fascists who seize power.
