Al Gore-linked Goddard Institute claimed “hottest October on record” after using temperature figures from September Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet.com Monday, November 17, 2008 Climate scientists allied with the IPCC have been caught citing fake data to make the case that global warming is accelerating, a shocking example of mass public deception that could spell the beginning of the end for the acceptance of man-made climate change theories. On Monday, NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, announced that last month was the hottest October on record. “This was startling,” reports the London Telegraph. “Across the world there were reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand. China’s official news agency reported that Tibet had suffered its “worst snowstorm ever”. In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years.” It soon came to light that the data produced by NASA to make the claim, and in particular temperature records covering large areas of Russia, was merely carried over from the previous month. NASA had used temperature records from the naturally hotter month of September and claimed they represented temperature figures in October. (ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW) When NASA was confronted with this glaring error, they then attempted to compensate for the lower temperatures in Russia by claiming they had discovered a new “hotspot” in the Arctic, despite satellite imagery clearly showing that Arctic sea ice had massively expanded its coverage by 30 per cent, an area the size of Germany, since summer 2007. The figures published by Dr Hansen’s institute are one of the primary sets of data used by the IPCC to promote its case for man-made global warming and they are widely quoted because they consistently show higher temperatures than other figures. “Yet last week’s latest episode is far from the first time Dr Hansen’s methodology has been called in question,” reports the Telegraph. “In 2007 he was forced by Mr Watts and Mr McIntyre to revise his published figures for US surface temperatures, to show that the hottest decade of the 20th century was not the 1990s, as he had claimed, but the 1930s.” Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the IPCC and a close ally of Hansen, also raised eyebrows recently during a presentation in Australia, during which he claimed that global temperatures have recently been rising “very much faster” than ever as he cited a graph showing purported temperature increases over the last decade. In fact, as even the vast majority of man-made global warming advocates will concede, temperatures since 1998 have moved sideways and over the last 18 months they have clearly begun a downward trend. Whether such “mistakes” are made in genuine error or are part of a politicized push for man-made global warming to be universally accepted, and the evidence clearly suggests that latter is the case, the fact is that we can no longer tolerate the cry that “the debate is over” on man-made global warming in light of such gargantuan falsehoods. Likewise, the push for carbon emissions to be reduced by 80 per cent or more, a figure that would completely cripple western economies and lower living standards to a near third world level, can no longer be accepted as a reasonable course of action now that the primary authority on man-made global warming, the UN IPCC, has been proven to be using fraudulent data to make its case. Foisted upon the public by means of giant multi-million dollar PR campaigns and brainwashing mandates that have worked themselves into every sector of society, including education, movies, television the arts and culture, all the attention and funding is being lavished upon a manufactured hoax, peddled with the aid of phony data, as governments prepare to suck what’s left out of the middle class and poor with carbon taxes that do nothing to help the environment, while all the real environmental problems are left in the shadows.

If true, I'd be rather disillusioned. Hansen seemed to be a person who was simply trying to get the facts out. It wouldn't be the first time someone's been sabatoged by those with an agenda, but even if the erroneous data was purposely submitted for that reason, he and his team should have double checked the data and the conclusions. Perhaps global warming IS all a bunch of crap, but I can't see why the oil companies would be siding WITH global warming given that they'd lose a LOT of money if viable alternative energy was actually realized, and petroleum was no longer necessary. Of course, everything I've read indicates they are against the idea of global warming. So who IS behind it do you think?
Exactly.. Cap & trade is a massive fraud, no matter how you look at it. If pollution were literally killing the earf, then the answer is to stop it. The easiest reductions being to curtail what pollution is completely unnecessary. They wish to do the opposite, and for good reason.. Letting people pay to pollute locks in global trade (As "developing" countries are generally immune from such schemes) as it gives Wall Street and others a brand new form of currency to play with, all of it easily counterfeited, paid for by consumers across the developed world.. The best part is, most of them won't even realize they're paying it, or to whom. Cha-ching.

Don't forget to add to your list communist internationalists. Maurice Strong, multi-millionaire, and Under Secty to Koffi Annan is a main mover and shaker of Global Warming. Strong chaired the Rio Earth Summit, where all this Global Warming bugaboo and its concomitant idea for transfer of $ for sales of carbon credits. Strong is big slimeball.
The political culture we have the misfortune to be stuck with is tax maximization. These parasites are anti-life, as you imply, and we have to stop paying taxes to stop this anti-life culture. Not with confrontation (yet), because we'll get killed for that, but by frugal living.
For the record, I've never supported the idea of a Carbon Tax. I felt we needed to look at viable ideas for alternative energy, and that we should reduce pollution as much as feasible, but I never thought it necessary to impose a tax on nations in regards to carbon output. On the other hand, those countries that pollute the atmosphere and the oceans with mercury and other highly toxic substances SHOULD be penalized. Hell, you can't eat fish these days without ingesting mercury.
Oh yeah, and has been for some time. If you don't believe it just ask Algore--that is, if you can catch him between flights on private jets or going places with an entourage of those humongous Chevrolet SUV's. If you can't catch him maybe you can catch his "friend" Hansen, the one who should lose his job with NASA for promoting bs propaganda.

As I said earlier, I'm not certain if EVERYTHING Hansen said is wrong, or if he was sabatoged by those who wanted to discredit him. Either way, I still find his comments concerning the oil industry spot on. I've used it for my tagline in case you haven't noticed.
Why should anyone pay any particular attention to anything he says when he uses out of date data to try to "prove" a lie? I find his ties to Algore more than enough for me to discount him and there are plenty of scientists who say that the "global warming" that Algore is always yammering about is propaganda. Don't know if you know this or not but the guy who started the weather channel (John Coleman) has scientists behind him who says it is hogwash and have offered to debate people like Hansen. Hansen and Algore very conveniently say "the debate is over."

Now that I know that YOU know what I meant, I find your words, "Why should anyone pay any particular attention to anything he says" interesting to say the least. Do you disagree with what I quoted, and if so, do you think the power brokers and globalists are really nice guys who are looking out for us, and who would never even consider doing anything that could be considered harmful to human health and well-being?
I don't know what I have ever posted that may have led you to believe I might be a fool, but no, I don't think any such stupid thing. Nor do I think any ah who pals around with Al Gore and lies about "global warming" gives much of a $hit about us either. I think you know that if Al Gore found out that he could make more money if he went around yammerin' about the sky fallin' and an Ice Age right around the corner he would be saying that. That has always been my impression of the situation. As I said earlier in this thread, perhaps Hansen's data was sabatoged, perhaps he IS just a fraud in terms of his global warming positions, right know it's up in the air. I strongly disagree with his ideas concerning the Carbon Tax however, and have made that clear in earlier comments. I just found what he said about the establishment to be spot on. I didn't vote for him, I voted for Harry Browne, since I too distrusted Gore due to his ties with Clinton. I already knew Bush was going to be a problem, but decided to vote my conscience rather the lesser of two evils. HOWEVER, in hindsight with what's happened during Bush's presidency, I can't help but think how things may have been different with Gore as president. I doubt he could have or would have been any worse. It's possible that he might have been a MUCH better president and we might not have had the problems we've had to deal with under Bush, but we'll never know. In any case, I think Obama is going to be a LOT worse that Gore would have been, as Obama has already shown his cards in what he has planned for us, and none of it is good. Gore was nowhere near as dangerous as Obama, of that I'm fairly certain.

So it isn't exactly by coincidence that it is those same colossal foundations that are making all those "charitable" donations to those icky Greens. The Environmental Grantmakers Association? That's Rockefeller. The Pew Charitable Trusts? That's Sunoco. W. Alton Jones? That's Citgo. The World Wildlife Fund? BP and Shell.

MacArthur Foundation ($4.2 billion assets 2001) and the Rockefeller Foundation ($2.6 billion assets 2001), to create a single-purpose consortium that argues against fossil fuels: the San Francisco- based Energy Foundation. They were joined within a few years by four other foundations, including the powerhouses David and Lucile Packard Foundation ($6.1 billion assets) and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation ($5.1 billion assets). Today the Energy Foundation has some $50 million of its own in the bank and its seven constituent foundations list over $23 billion in combined assets. This conglomerate is critical to Pew’s success as the pre-eminent climate change leader.
The Kyoto Protocol on climate change represented an opportunity for Enron to make a profit, because the carbon dioxide requirements of the treaty dovetailed with numerous corporate projects that emitted less carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
Amidst the talk about the benefits that Kyoto Protocol is sup-posed to promote, it is perhaps forgotten especially amongst the greenies how Kyoto was born in the corridors of very big business. The name Enron has all but faded from our news pages since the company went down in flames in 2001 amidst charges of fraud, bribery, price fixing and graft. But without Enron there would have been no Kyoto Protocol.
A GISS spokesman lamely explained that the reason for the error in the Russian figures was that they were obtained from another body, and that GISS did not have resources to exercise proper quality control over the data it was supplied with. This is an astonishing admission: the figures published by Dr Hansen's institute are not only one of the four data sets that the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) relies on to promote its case for global warming, but they are the most widely quoted, since they consistently show higher temperatures than the others.
