An Irish Blessing (listen)

May the Blessing of Light be upon you
Light on the outside, light on the inside.

With God's sunlight shining on you,
May your heart glow with warmth,
like a turf fire that welcomes friends and strangers alike.

May the Light of the Lord shine from your eyes,
Like a candle in the window,
Welcoming the weary traveler.

May the blessing of God's soft rain be on you,
Falling gently on your head
Refreshing your soul with the sweetness of little flowers newly blooming

May the strength of the winds of heaven bless you
Carrying the rain to wash your spirit clean
Sparkling after in the sunlight.

May the blessing of God's earth be on you
And as you walk the roads
May you always have a kind word for those you meet.

May you understand the strength and power of God in a
thunderstorm and winter
and the quiet beauty of creation
and the calm of a summer sunset

And may you come to realize
that insignificant as you may seem in this great universe
you ARE an important part of God's plan.

May he watch over you
and keep you safe from harm.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. —Thomas Jefferson, 1802

LOL! I am Irish every day (at least a part of me is). According to some members of the family who are into all that genealogy stuff we are part Irish, part German, part English, and part Indian (native American Indian, not India Indian).

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.

Sounds about like mine: Welsh, Irish, German, and 3 different Indian Tribes. The family "Coat of Arms" is one of the oldest. If you go back far enough you can add Sephardic Jew, Scots, French, and Italian as well.

IRISH BLESSING

May the road rise to meet you. (Go n-éiri an bóther leat.)
May the wind be always at your back. (Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl.)
May the sun shine warm upon your face. (Go lonrai an ghrian go te ar d'aghaidh.)
May the rains fall gently upon your fields. (Go dtite an bhtháisteach go min ar do phtháirceanna.)
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. (Agus go mbuailimid le chthéile aris, go gcoinni Dia i mbos A ltháimhe thú.)
