I live in Missouri (don't ask where; I'm not saying).

Missouri has never had a Primary seatbelt law. It does now.

I got pulled over today and given...a $10 ticket for not wearing my seatbelt -- which I do 99% of the time.

When the cop told me $10, I started laughing.

He didn't sign the ticket, or have me sign it, either. I'll just mail it in.

That's why I live in Missouri.

I'm originally from Illinois, but used to camp in Missouri a lot as a teenager.

Once, when I was 17, two of my friends and I went into some rural bar, and ate some cheeseburgers while drinking deer.

At a table were several men playing poker for money. Once was a county deputy, the kind with the big fat belly. They didn't even look at us, and all three of us had hair down past out shoulders.

That's Missouri, at least the more rural parts.
