POSTED December 2, 2008 | 11:00 AM The Capitol Visitors Center, which opened this morning, may have tripled its original budget and fallen years behind schedule, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid found a silver lining for members of Congress: tourists won't offend them with their B.O. anymore. Reid: We won't smell the tourists anymore

"My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway," said Reid in his remarks. "In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it's true."
But it's no longer going to be true, noted Reid, thanks to the air conditioned, indoor space.
And that's not all. "We have many bathrooms here, as you can see," Reid continued. "Souvenirs are available."
$621 million well spent.

When the hell are people gonna stay home from their immoral wars, their April 15 holiday, their bullsh@t?? If we all stop showing up it will end..
The beltway denizens are concerned about the smell they have to endure from the unwashed masses that dare venture into Washington, they have no such concern for Americans dying half a world away, out of hearing and out of sight.
If they hadn't banned smoking, you'd have the aroma of tabak wafting through the hallowed halls. But since as a country, we're more attuned to marrying fags rather than smoking them........ You can begin to understand Guy Fawkes' motivations......

Law Enforcement Against Prohibition SILENT RUNNING The real question that needs to be immediately answered, is, how soon can we no longer smell these cokksuckers in deecee?
I really have no words to properly express my contempt for politicians and the rogue government they force down our throats. Nothing short of open rebellion can change the political landscape these bastards have created. If anyone has a more reasonable, *workable* solution, I'm all ears.
Sadly, I cannot disagree with you. The HAVA legislation has doomed our voting procedure and process.
You can have one or the other but not both.
It is now time for Atlas to shrug.
How many millions of taxpayer $ were spent for this sweet smelling tourist project? And on the subect of wasted taxpayer $ does anyone know where Shifty Paulson is today? China, PERHAPS?
