Perhaps it is time to examine exactly why this is so. After you have read the following, please, ask if you have questions. Acts 9:1 But Saul, still breathing threat and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, in order that he might bring bound to Jerusalem any whom he found who belonged to The Way, both men and women. Acts 16:17 This [girl] kept following Paul and us and crying out with the words: These men are slaves of the Most High God, who are publishing to YOU the way of salvation. Acts 18:24 Now a certain Jew named A·pol82;los, a native of Alexandria, an eloquent man, arrived in Eph82;e·sus; and he was well versed in the Scriptures. 25 This [man] had been orally instructed in the way of Jehovah and, as he was aglow with the spirit, he went speaking and teaching with correctness the things about Jesus, but being acquainted with only the baptism of John. 26 And this [man] started to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Pris·cil82;la and Aq82;ui·la heard him, they took him into their company and expounded the way of God more correctly to him. Acts 19:8 Entering into the synagogue, he spoke with boldness for three months, giving talks and using persuasion concerning the kingdom of God. 9 But when some went on hardening themselves and not believing, speaking injuriously about The Way before the multitude, he withdrew from them and separated the disciples from them, daily giving talks in the school [auditorium] of Ty·ran82;nus. 10 This took place for two years, so that all those inhabiting the [district of] Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks. Acts 19:23 At that particular time there arose no little disturbance concerning The Way. Acts 24:13 Nor can they prove to you the things of which they are accusing me right now. 14 But I do admit this to you, that, according to the way that they call a sect, in this manner I am rendering sacred service to the God of my forefathers, as I believe all the things set forth in the Law and written in the Prophets; Acts 25:4 However, Festus answered that Paul was to be kept in Caes·a·re82;a and that he himself was about to depart shortly for there. 5 Hence let those who are in power among YOU, he said, come down with me and accuse him, if there is anything out of the way about the man. Luke 3:4 ...Prepare the way of Jehovah, YOU people, make his roads straight. Luke 21:21 In that very hour he became overjoyed in the holy spirit and said: I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones, and have revealed them to babes. Yes, O Father, because to do thus came to be the way approved by you. Luke 20:21 And they questioned him, saying: Teacher, we know you speak and teach correctly and show no partiality, but you teach the way of God in line with truth: Luke 23:41 And we, indeed, justly so, for we are receiving in full what we deserve for things we did; but this [man] did nothing out of the way. John 1:23 He said: I am a voice of someone crying out in the wilderness, MAKE the way of Jehovah straight, just as Isaiah the prophet said. John 14:1 Do not let YOUR hearts be troubled. Exercise faith in God, exercise faith also in me. 2 In the house of my Father there are many abodes. Otherwise, I would have told YOU, because I am going my way to prepare a place for YOU. 3 Also, if I go my way and prepare a place for YOU, I am coming again and will receive YOU home to myself, that where I am YOU also may be. 4 And where I am going YOU know the way. 5 Thomas said to him: Lord, we do not know where you are going. How do we know the way? 6 Jesus said to him: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. As you read the following, think on what it means when they say 'the way.' 2 Chronciles 20:32 And he kept walking in the way of his father A82;sa, and he did not turn aside from it, by doing what was right in Jehovahs eyes. 2 Chronciles 21:6 And he went on walking in the way of the kings of Israel, just as those of the house of A82;hab had done; for A82;habs own daughter had become his wife, and he continued to do what was bad in Jehovahs eyes. 2 Chronciles 21:13 but you walk in the way of the kings of Israel and cause Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to have immoral intercourse the same way that the house of A82;hab caused the having of immoral intercourse, and even your own brothers, the household of your father, who were better than you, you have killed; There are more examples that could be posted, but perhaps this gives a general idea of how the teachings of Jesus Christ were thought of in the first century. Once you begin to understand that, then you begin to see what religion really is, and, how it is changed to benefit those who control each individual religion. To be frank, Christianity is an invention of men; nowhere in the Bible will you find such a word, but, you will find The Way clearly noted and explained. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
