Title: Pope's Prayer Omits Israel, and Words Fly

ROME, July 25 - Israel and the Vatican traded sharp words on Monday over a Sunday sermon in which the new pope, Benedict XVI, prayed that God would stop the "murderous hand" of terrorists who had struck in "Egypt, Turkey, Iraq, Great Britain."

Israel summoned the Vatican ambassador there to explain why Pope Benedict had failed to mention attacks against Jews. An Israeli Foreign Ministry statement charged that the pope, in a brief sermon delivered from his vacation retreat in the Italian Alps, had "deliberately" left out a reference to a July 12 suicide bombing in Netanya that killed five people.

"We expected that the new pope, who on taking office emphasized the importance he places on relations between the Church and the Jewish people, would behave differently," the Israeli statement read.

The pope's spokesman, Joaquín Navarro-Valls, released a terse defense noting that Benedict had referred in his sermon to attacks in "recent days."

"It's surprising that one would have wanted to take the opportunity to distort the intentions of the Holy Father," he said in a statement. "Obviously the other week's grave attack in Netanya referred to by Israel falls under the general and unreserved condemnation of terrorism."

After the initial Israeli statement, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom appeared to retreat somewhat, saying that he hoped the omission was "a mistake and not a deliberate omission," The Associated Press reported.

The exchange was unexpectedly strong given the prominence that Pope Benedict has given to relations with Jews since he was elected pope in April, after the death of John Paul II, who was the first modern pope to visit a synagogue.

He mentioned Judaism alone among the world's other major religions when he was formally installed. In June, he met with top Jewish leaders, who said his efforts to reach out had softened many worries among Jews about a German pope.

Next month, Benedict is to travel to Cologne, Germany, where he is scheduled to visit a synagogue that was rebuilt after being destroyed in the Holocaust. He is also scheduled to meet with Muslim leaders in Germany.

I swear to god I've never seen a more hypersensitive government. Do they realize that their bickering over such nonsense invites every sort of stereotype? It’s no wonder NV lampoons them early and often. I realize government behavior is out of the hands of the average Jew living in Israel, but I wish someone would stand up and object to nonsense.

Maybe the reason that nobody says anything is because the Israeli gov does indeed reflect the attitude of the citizens..

Any examination of Israeli population shows that Ariel Sharon and Bibi and the other butchers truly reflect the attitudes of the average Israeli.

Good point. Since I don't hear a squeek from the citizens, it no doubt does.

It is precisely because the mainstream media is owned almost exclusively and operated by Jews. They select what news Americans see. That is why the internet is under attack and why they want 4 to hide such information from readers who are not 4 members. If you want to know what is coming here, the thread includes information on American legislation as well, read:
Canada signs protocol against Web racism

People who have some political awareness are VERY upset with the police state that is encroaching upon all Americans and yet the very reason for this police state is at root caused by the domination of our society by the Jewish Lobby and its pursuit of its goals for its group at the expense of all of the rest of us.
Of course to say that the "Emperor has no clothes" is "hate", that is how they hope to silence us until such time as they can put people in prison, as they OPENLY state on Judeo-con forums.

...beyond hypersensitive; more like a stern parent who disciplines the child at any and every opportunity. Israel has done a superb job of conditioning the U.S. and probably most of its citizens. Certainly, it makes that same effort world-wide. A concomitant consequence, though, is that we tend to dislike those who are heavy-handed, oppressive, intimidating. Israel's success in asserting itself into such dominance in Washington indicates that it most probably ignores any adverse reactions to its policies. It's a King Of The Mountain syndrome...

That is so true and we have every right to those feelings. There is righteous anger and righteous hate, imo.

I've reached the opinion that the Israeli elites welcome the adverse reactions to it's policies. It's a skillful use of the hegelian dialectic. It obviously advances their political agenda here in the states. Thank god it does a pratfall globally. In some warped way, they choose to be the outcasts, thereby feeding into the "us v. them" persecution complex. And that complex is as real as rain. Most Jewish comedians poke fun at it as part of their standup shtick. It’s hard to explain this to some PC’d 20 year old, but that’s what forums such as this are for. A first hand sharing of life experiences.

This is no joke. I have also seen many examples of activist like posters stating that people like us will be going to prison. It's just a matter of time. At the ntime Chertoff was appointed, some of these posters were celebrating as if Chertoff would represent them and not us. That he would actively suppress Americans. They use the codeword 'anti American' to describe those who will be suppressed, but we all know what they mean. The smiting of enemies seems to have an almost religious element to it, including the fervor of the activists about it. I can't put my finger on it, but it sure seems like something almost religious.

Ignores is a good word. Judaism is a collectivist ideology. Jews and Judaism have survived for thousands of years by putting their groups interests above the interests of all other groups in their environment. They have conditioned us in the US to unconsciously believe that advancing OUR group's interests is unethical, hate, etc... So, they advance their power on one hand, and prevent us from asserting power on the other hand. Its a one-two punch. Example- I want to limit immigration and stop illegal imm 100%. I want to preserve our borders language and culture. Thats xenophobic and racist. Israelis run an apartheid state.

Israelis in the DC lobby have no concern for anyone except Israel. They simply do not even recognize adverse reactions of Americans, because Americans are beneath them. Unlike those of us in the western tradition, they do not weigh all events or make moral judgements. The only thing that matters is advancing Israel. That is always the highest good. No amount of adversity (that they can get away with) wrought upon Americans can stop them from pursuing the highest good, advancing the collective. They analyze situations in terms of groups, not individuals as most of us do. Their group must prevail- that is all that matters. Morality is defined by comparing behavior to the advancement of the collective's power. Advance the collective=good. Don't advance or set back the collective=bad. This is very important to understand.

When the question of how can the Jewish lobby do this to us?, remember the above. Remember that the Israelis in DC are tied to Judaic principles, not western ones. They can harm us and do not have a conscience about it. They don't even recognize the harm they are doing as something 'bad'. Its simply of no concern to them.

This lack of conscience is hard to understand for us. we tend to think that different people 'are just like us'. Western values are alien to Judaism.

Western values are alien to Judaism.

That is literally true, 40 years of cultural distortion via "Judeo-Christian" propaganda notwithstanding.

This is true in many instances. Too often we send our kind, generous, tender-hearted children out into a greedy, grasping, cold world. They are not prepared. And we tend to vote that naively too. "Oh, the President and his advisors know best", etc.

One if by land, two if by sea...how many if they are already here?
