The Witnesses make many claims in their attempt to convert you to their faith. They profess to have the only true Christian church, to be the only true representatives of God, to have the only correct biblical teaching, and to be the only true announcers of Jehovah's coming kingdom. If they are the only true church and are the only true voice of God's word, then what they say should prove to be true, especially in prophecy. When it comes to predicting the future, the Watchtower organization fails miserably. Following are some of the false predictions made over the years by the Watchtower organization. If you present these to a JW, he will probably say something like, "Those are taken out of context," or "They didn't claim to be the prophet of God," or "The light is getting brighter and we are understanding Bible prophecy better now," etc. Make a copy of these false prophecies, found in the appendix, and give it to them to check. They are right out of the Witnesses' literature. Remember Deut. 18:22, "If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him." If someone makes a false prophecy, and they have claimed to be a prophet of God, then they are false prophets and are not to be listened to. Do the Witnesses claim to be the prophet of God? Yes, they do.

In 1972 the Jehovah's Witness Watchtower claimed to be the prophet of God.

IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET" -- "So does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?...This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian Witnesses...Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a ‘prophet' of God. It is another thing to prove it." The Watchtower, 4/1/72, p. 197. (See Deut. 18:21)

1897 "Our Lord, the appointed King, is now present, since October 1874," Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 4, page 621.

1899 "...the ‘battle of the great day of God Almighty' (Revelation 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced." The Time Is at Hand, page 101 (1908 edition).

1916 "The Bible chronology herein presented shows that the six great 1000 year days beginning with Adam are ended, and that the great 7th Day, the 1000 years of Christ's Reign, began in 1873." The Time Is at Hand, page ii, (forward).

1918 "Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection." Millions Now Living Will Never Die, page 89.

1922 "The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914." The Watchtower 9/1/22, page 262.

1923 "Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures. As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming deluge." The Watchtower, page 106 4/1/23.

1925 "The year 1925 is here. With great expectation Christians have looked forward to this year. Many have confidently expected that all members of the body of Christ will be changed to heavenly glory during this year. This may be accomplished. It may not be. In his own due time God will accomplish his purposes concerning his people. Christians should not be so deeply concerned about what may transpire this year." The Watchtower, 1/1/25, page. 3.

1925 "It is to be expected that Satan will try to inject into the minds of the consecrated, the thought that 1925 should see an end to the work." The Watchtower, Sept, 1925 page 262.

1926 "Some anticipated that the work would end in 1925, but the Lord did not state so. The difficulty was that the friends inflated their imaginations beyond reason; and that when their imaginations burst asunder, they were inclined to throw away everything." The Watchtower, page 232.

1931 "There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time...and they also learned to quit fixing dates." Vindication, page 338.

1941 "Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon." The Watchtower, 9/15/41, page 288.

1968 "True, there have been those in times past who predicted an ‘end to the world', even announcing a specific date. Yet nothing happened. The ‘end' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing?.. Missing from such people were God's truths and evidence that he was using and guiding them." Awake, 10/8/68.

1968 "Why are you looking forward to 1975?" The Watchtower, 8/15/68, page 494.

A JW might say that the organization is still learning. If that is so, then how can they trust what they are taught now by the Watchtower? Will what they are being taught now change also? A true prophet of God won't err in prophesying. Only a false prophet does. The Jehovah's Witness organization, that claims to be a prophet of God, is really a false prophet. Jesus warned us by saying, "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect -- if that were possible" (Matt. 24:24).

False Prophecy by the Jehovas witnesses. They say the year 1975 is the end. THEY ARE CAUGHT IN A LIE PROVING THAT THEY AND THEIR FOLLOWERS ARE SATANISTS THAT ARE ALL GOING TO HELL UNLESS THEY REPENT TO THE REAL GOD JESUS CHRIST.

Battle Cry "Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?" Gal. 4:16

Why Jehovah's Witness Prophecy Is Important

Issue Date: March/April 2003

By Thomas Heinze

How can we tell if the doctrines of the Jehovah's Witnesses are true? C.T. Russell, the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses suggested a test for prophets somewhat similar to the one in Deuteronomy 18:22. He wrote: "Jehovah...will put all false prophets to shame either by not fulfilling the false prediction of such self-assuming prophets or by having His own prophecies fulfilled in a way opposite to that predicted by the false prophets."

Most of the teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses are based on the interpretations of Scripture of Pastor Russell and Judge Rutherford, the first two leaders of the movement. These men also based prophesies of future events, complete with dates, on their interpretations of Scripture. These dates have now passed so we can see whether Jehovah has fulfilled their predictions or put these men to shame.

How accurate were their interpretations? The prophetic statements which follow are all from the Jehovah's Witnesses' Watchtower publications. For quotes and references which back up each statement see Answers to my Jehovah's Witness Friends, p. 21-40. Here are the dates which they set, and the events which they claimed would occur on each date.

1872: - Beginning of the millennium. Wrong! Watchtower publications later changed the date to 1975. Wrong again!

1874: - Christ's second coming. The Bible says "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him" (Rev 1:7 see also Acts 1: 11; Mat 24:23-30; Luke 17:23-24;). Christ did not return in 1874.

1914: - All world governments to be overthrown. God would glorify His people and govern the world. Later Watchtower publications admitted these prophecies and those of 1918, and 1925 had been wrong.

1915: - When man's governments had not been replaced by God's in 1914, the date was changed to 1915. The Watch-tower Society later admitted that these prophecies "had not been fulfilled."

1918: - End of gentile times, the churches to be destroyed.

1920: - Mountains, republics, and kingdoms disappear.

1925: - "There will be no slip-up...Abraham should enter upon the actual possession of his promised inheritance in the year 1925." Watchtower publications later admitted that this prediction and those of 1914 and 1918 had been wrong.

1929: - A house was built for the return of faithful people spoken of in the Old Testament. It became an embarrassing monument to a false prophesy, so was sold in 1948!

1932: - The overthrow of christendom. Previously predicted for 1918, later moved to 1925, and then to 1932. The Watchtower later admitted: "1932 came and 'Christendom' was not destroyed...."

1975. - Beginning of the millennium. Because the Millennium had not begun in 1872 as had been prophesied, the date was changed to 1975. When this date passed many Jehovah's Witnesses applied Russell's test of a false prophet and left the movement.

So what? C. T. Russell and J.F. Rutherford, the men who made the false prophesies, claimed to have based most of them on Scripture. In all these points in which their interpretations of Scripture could be put to the test, they were wrong. Interpretations of Scripture by these same men form the basis for almost all of the doctrines which distinguish Jehovah's Witnesses.

No one should entrust the salvation of his soul to the interpretations of Scripture of men who were so clearly wrong in the points where they can be checked. But if someone is really intent on following their teachings, let him start by following Russell's test of a false prophet.

This Russel guy is what the Bible warned us about. The ones who stand in the door and block others from entering Heaven. The Jehovas witnesses are proven false prophets according to the Bible.

You wont convince any JW that they are wrong anymore than I can convince you that you are wrong about "hell". I can show you the same kind of facts you present to try and convince JW that they are wrong but it wont do any good.

This is exactly why I didn't want to get into the muck with Richard. The "Witnesses" have a history of predicting the end and being wrong.

I knew someone would eventually begin to expose the false prophecies of the Witnesses.

Let me say, thanks Old Friend. (I didn't want to be the one).

why wouldn't you want to be the one to expose false prophecies by the witness cult?

I've had my fill of arguing religion. Bible study is something I take serious and think that "the salt loses its savor" when the result is perpetual argument.

I don't belong to any group, club, organization, fraternity or membership organization because they have creeds and try to determine what members think for them.

If someone else chooses to believe the doctrines of a man made organization that's their choice, and I'm fine with it. If that person then chooses to foist it upon me or others I become somewhat disturbed and often times find myself consumed in argument rather than something constructive.

Watchtower deceived deceivers bump

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”—Samuel Adams

Me too. There are a host of standard arguments that have been debate issues for millenium. These have been argued by far greater minds than are available today or even in this 4UM most likely. Usually these arguments amount to straining at a gnat while swallowing a camel whole (IMHO).

You don't need scripture to do that. You need a history book and you can take their 'script' and demolish it.

With that ONE statement, Tom just told you this: "Guns are a sacrilege to religion." That is exactly what he said in different words. IOW, they are a sacrilegious affront to religion.

Winner of the "Bend Over" of the year award..no wonder Obamessiah won.

I can understand the difficulty with which spiritual people deal with the decision whether or not to kill a fellow human being. Some might consider it the mortal sin unto their own damnation. Some might determine that their eternal life rides upon whether they are willing to die rather than kill.

It's a very hard question in my opinion. One that might only be determined at that singular moment.

Agreed. Because Religion's brainwashing through fear and guilt, and the CERTAIN incarceration by the CriminalPrisonIndustrialComplex even if self-defense, are hard things to overcome for anyone. Which is the way the StateInc wants it...along with their ministerial and pastoral "facilitators."
