Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it. Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement. There's already been speculation about his selection...from Congressman Jesse Jackson, Junior to Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth. Duckworth made an appearance in Saturday's Veterans' parade in Quincy. We asked her about the possibility of filling Obama's seat. "The Governor's office confirmed yesterday that he is considering me and I am deeply honored jus to be considered. I hope whoever is selected is someone who is willing to travel around the state and gets to know this wonderful state. I'm just honored to be considered," Duckworth said. The governor expects to make his decision before Christmas. Part of the timing depends on when Obama officially vacates his senate seat. Truly sad...sensationalistic cut and paste. This snip quoted above refers to the issue of the governor's dramatic arrest yesterday. Of course Obama has talked with the governor's office about a replacement...it was what triggered a surge in the investigation. Now, if someone wants to make the point the Obama tried to influence the choice, legally or illegally, let's have it, but this "Hal Turner" type of journalism is plain stupid and discredits the forum by it's sheer stupidity, not to mention it's inaccuracy. Just because Michael Rivero links it, doesn't mean it's the word of god.
Two things here... Congo Obongo makes up the truth as he goes along. Also as to his fate...I suspect he knows but is arrogant enough and power hungry enough to do the bidding of his masters. Obongo cannot live for four years in the bunker beneath the White House.

I'm a big fan of both. The comment was directed towards cynicom as he holds himself to be a respectable and dignified elder on the forum.
