I have a Heywood Wakefield rocking chair from about 1940. It's just a generic oak one, nothing special, but two days ago I leaned back in it and entire back broke off and I fell over backwards onto the bed.

I got six screw from a hardware store and repaired it, and still have the old screws, which are rusted and the most bizarre-looking screws I have ever seen.

Heywood Wakefield was the most cutting-edge furniture manufacturer in the '50's and their better stuff goes for a lot of money.

Not this rocking chair, unfortunately.

If this had been a Heywood Wakefield designer rocking chair from 1040, it would be worth about $300.

Type in Heywood Wakefield into Google and see what comes up.

I had never heard of this company until I found this chair at a thrift store for $30, and when I looked it up I thought I had really got a treasure, until I looked further, and found I had not.
