I heard Chuck Krauthammer today saying this was terrible in that this is the image that will be used by the 'left' to convey GWB's parting days.
"Wherever a Knave is not punished, an honest Man is laugh'd at." -- George Savile (1633-1695) "Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth." -- Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)
Krauthammer is a very sick man. And even sicker was when Bush didn't duck behind the podium after the first shoe was tossed. He's going out like a carnival clown at a dunking station.
The best and first guarantor of our neutrality and our independent existence is the defensive will of the people and the proverbial marksmanship of the Swiss shooter. Each soldier a good marksman! Each shot a hit! -Schweizerische Schuetzenzeitung (Swiss Shooting Federation) April, 1941
The only thing wrong with what the guy did was to throw something light and relatively soft like a shoe. A brick or concrete block would have been better.
Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end. Lord Acton
And they write innumerable books; being too vain and distracted for silence: seeking every one after his own elevation, and dodging his emptiness. - T. S. Eliot

LOL! What an image.

What a miserable person he is. That his pathetic thoughts get published in our media says much about the media.
He's neocon royalty. PBUH. :[

The thrown shoes are a fitting symbol of the world's disgust with the crimes of this Administration and its handlers. Perhaps even more fitting would be the photograph of Ali Abbas who was twelve years old when U.S. bombs blew off both his arms: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/talking_point/6458145.stm
"The 'uniter' has brought the entire world together - to despise and deride us." lodwick

you're right. that really would be fitting. can you imagine what a statement that would be if bush received millions from all over the world? easier to mail than old shoes too.
I sent preznit jorge a bag of pretzels for Christmas.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.Samuel Adams
