Poster Comment: 1998 Chevy Cavalier, 525,000 miles. First engine blew at 334,00 but the transmission was still running. Put in a transmission and engine with 20,000 miles. Finally, the second transmission went out. Got a 2000 Chevy S-10, 92,000 miles, a little body damage near one rear tire, and a stick-shift (which no one can drive anymore). Cost: $2000.

I can do a four-on-the-floor and a three-on-the-tree.

My first two cars were stick. Learned to drive on an F150 4x. Jump out, turn the hubs. Semi power brakes were the only power thing in that truck but I could parallel park it in one shot. The only automatic I really liked was the ’73 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. What a pimp mobile.
I couldn't drive a stick until I started driving a 18 wheeler. Poor instructors had a hard time with me...

My last stick was a '50 Merc with three on the tree and O/D tranny...suicide doors and an AM radio which was blasting rock and roll music when they broke programming to announce the murder of Jack Kennedy.
