I had some malware on my computer. Adaware didn't touch it. Spybot search and destroy didn't touch it. I tried a couple of others and they didn't do the job either. I found this malwarebytes anti malware program for free and it kicks ass. No more problems. I would recommend it highly to anyone with spyware problems. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

What did it find that spybot didnt? That is a pretty good program.

Virtumonde was one of them. And 27 others. I didn't read all the log. I just let it do its thing and no more annoying popups I have been experienceing the last 2 days or so. It was quite a bit slower then the others but with much better results.

Thanks for the tip pcdecrapifier.com will get rid of the pre-loaded garbage that may be on your pc, you choose whether to whack the program, or not. Another nifty freebie.
Thanks I will take a look. It may be like a nifty program that I have called kill process. Much better then ctrl alt del. Ever notice that ctrl alt del takes forever and sometimes never? This "kill process" program kills it isntantly. It gives you a nice bang sound which even makes it kind of kewl to kill those programs that run at startup. It will show you lots of stuff that you may have had no idea that were even running on your computer in the background.
I'll look for that one, just for the sound effect. Going to foxitsoftware.com for my .pdf needs and removing all things Adobe, except Shockwave, has really lightened the load. Also, getting rid of RealPlayer was a boost for the machine.
