Not directly. We shipped over a regiment's worth of weapons to Fatah, which used to control the Gaza Strip. When Hamas took over, they inherited all the weapons we gave Fatah. We viewed Fatah as the lesser of two Palestinian evils, so we armed them.
Focus please. Your mind is wandering. You are lost in the tall grass with that latest leap in logic. Let me help you find your way back to reality: a. Fatah and Hamas are rival groups. Fatah was politically humiliated by Hamas in recent elections. So why would Fatah give Hamas its high tech weapons after being publicly humiliated by Hamas? b. If by some bizzaro circumstance Hamas had "inherited" the high tech weapons we gave to Fatah, why isn't Hamas using those super duper US made weapons against the Israeli military? Why does Hamas resort to using make-shift rockets from a kazillion miles away against Israel?
My apologies.I forgot to mention that either before or after the elections, I can't remember which, Hamas and Fatah had a huge battle and Hamas kicked Fatah out of Gaza. That's when Hamas took all of Fatah's US supplied weapons. As far as the make shift rockets, the arms shipments we made to Fatah consisted of infantry small arms, APC's and ammunition. No surface to surface missiles were given by the US to Fatah.
