Just reading an article on LP about how people are no longer buying the rinky dink alternative hybrid cars and someone posted that it was "time for a gas tax." And here I thought that there was both a federal and state tax on every gallon of gas that was sold in the US (maybe not Alaska, I don't know whether they have an excise tax on gas or not but every other state that I know about has it). Is it possible that someone could really be so ignorant as to think that the answer is always more and higher taxes? Someone seems to be in need of help and maybe getting his meds adjusted.

I wonder if they are actually talking about a carbon tax. Is it someone who normally pushed AGW? They are pushing for that globally right now. Cooler temps are closing their window of opportunity.

Yes, the head of the American Truckers Association was quoted, as saying a Fuel Tax would be better received, if it was called a Carbon tax.
