AVRWC likes water, white tea and very strong coffee. In that order. First runner up is V8.

Hey, don't know what my favorite drink is, but try this:

Tall glass, lotsa crushed ice, add half heavy cream and half Vernor's ginger ale. Only Vernor's will do.

Haven't had this in quite a while. Can't get Vernor's down here. I've recently heard that they still make it.

I don't know what you call this drink. Tastes kinda like an ice cream float & it's real good on a hot day.

Suggestion on a sobriquet for this drink? It needs a good moniker.

Mine has changed. It used to be non-alcoholic. As of coronation day, it will change to Grey Goose or Polar Bear Vodka (Stored in the freezer with the martini glasses), Old Forester 100 proof Bourbon, and a nice 100% agave tequila. In mass quantities.

Finally.

Burnett's gin, tonic, and apple cider splash.

For the evening.

Otherwise, French-roast coffee in the AM, then Berkey water, until the pm.

Brandy, kokakola chaser, icewater

running out

Sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast. Out of ruby red juice, the pink lemonade is sounding pretty good.

That reminds me, every time I bring home stuff from my Mom's there's always a little plastic cup of crystal lite lemonade mix. Well, twice anyway which is what got me thinking how strange it was in the first place, since I prefer frozen concentrate.

"....with a bit of the pink packet poison"????

NOOOooooooooo!

Don't use that stuff!

All I drink is bottled water and coffee made with bottled water. I will take a shot of egg nog during the Hannukah season, though. It's sweet and delicious and I really enjoy whiskey mixed in it. Otherwise, water and coffee.

I've tried it with brandy, and with vodka. The best is brandy AND vodka, with a bit of egg nog mixed in... :)

Wine and mead, in that order.

I like dry wine but mead is why too sweet for me.

I do like a little honey and cinnamon, either in milk or tea, which I drink a lot of, as long as it's sweetened with the honey and cinnamon but no sugar.

You're right. I could do without the whiskey's charcoal taste and I like it better with a grain neutral like vodka or an eminently blendable spirit like brandy, both of which are used as the starting points for many delightful liqueurs.

I guess I got in the habit of mixing with bourbon because of the old folks who offer the nog when we're visiting them during the holidays. They mostly drink JD (and if I never taste that again it'll be fine with me) or some other highly over rated, blended (which gives me a headache-I'd buy Wild Turkey straight bourbon or nothing at all) whiskey.

When I was "burnin' the proverbial candle at both ends" I drank scotch. Of course when I and my fellow band members were using other illicit substances that were always available to the minstrels in Florida but never in Tennessee we could drink all we liked without getting drunk, and the scotch was great because there was no hangover (from the likka, but I was still in a fog from the recreational mixture until about 7PM, you know, when it was time to start getting ready for another stellar performance.)
