A young woman showed up in class Tuesday sporting a pushed-up afro with a big "Obama 08" button jabbed in it and a white t-shirt with an image of Obama w/an afro and the slogan "Party Like A Barackstar!". The course instructor said she was going to limit the number of people who recited portions of Obummer's iniggeration speech in later speech assignments. It's going to be one of those semesters.....

Since when do blacks need to take a class in public speaking?
Was she black? I ask only because back in the '70s I had a 'fro that Dr.J would have been proud of...
As a lump of coal. Even the white instructor called her "Obama-girl!". Another kicker: the course instructor wants us to watch Obummer's inniggeration speech and write a 4-page review for "extra credit" (10 points added to our lowest major grade/assignment). I'M NOT DOING IT, I'll make an A without it.

Several other questions come to mind, but I'm sure that you know what they are. Good luck with it. Back when I finally decided to graduate, I learned to sit on the front row, smile, and recite whatever pap that they wanted to hear, or have fed back to them. It was disgustingly easy.
The sad part of it all is the teacher is very nice and sincere aside from having chugged a pitcher of the kool-aid. I'll just bite my tongue and let it slide, there's sure to be more Obama-mania outbursts as the semester goes along.

Yes, it mainly sucks. The best that you could hope for was a hottie in the class that wanted to bond. The rest of it was crap. In My Own Experience.
