It's winter in Montana
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below
Oh, how I love Montana
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I'll guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Montana
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground

Visited some friends living near Jordan, Montana a few years ago (1995-96) in November. It was Thanksgiving and very cold, very snowy and very beautiful. There were deer everywhere.

Montana is where I was born. I used to visit my Uncle Buck's ranch as a kid. He had numerous barn cats and none of the cats had tails or ears after their first winter. The old timers used to say they could shave in the winter by putting water on their faces, then going outdoors and snapping the wiskers off. Needless to say, I don't go back home to visit family in the winter.

My cats find that hard to believe, lying there two feet from the wood stove. One just went outside to cool off (rain, sleet and 29).

Money problems do not come from a lack of money, but from living an excessive, unrealistic lifestyle

These were true barn cats. Mine like their wood stove as well, and their pillowtop kingsize bed.
