'Nuke From Iran Within This Year'

Breaking News2:14pm UK, Tuesday January 27, 2009

Geoff Meade, defence correspondent

Iran will have enough enriched uranium to make a single nuclear weapon later this year, the prestigious International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) predicts.

The think tank's Mark Fitzpatrick made the announcement at today's launch of its annual global review of military powers.

"During 2009, Iran will probably reach the point at which it has produced the amount of low-enriched uranium needed to make a nuclear bomb," he said.

"But being able to enrich uranium is not the same as having a nuclear weapon."

However, the survey reports doubts over US Intelligence estimates that Iran halted its work on nuclear weapons six years ago.

This points to Tehran's continued development of long-range ballistic missiles able to reach targets in Israel and beyond.

The IISS recommends a mixture of carrot and stick as the best international response.

It concluded a dual policy of engagement and sanctions, testing possibilities for Iranian cooperation while adopting targeted containment strategies, is the best way to deal with Iran's nuclear programme.

Rather intemperate this morning, especially as I did not post to you.

I find it rather odd that Israel rants endlessly about Iran having...a nuclear weapon... while they have 300.

Perhaps endless propaganda and hysteria is a means to some end for Israel???

My beef with you is that you want to nuke the Jews. That isn't right. You know it isn't.

As to Israel having nukes. Remember that they could obliterate Iran, Syria etc. But they haven't. Do you think the muslims would have the same restraint. You an American wants to nuke them. So I find it hard to believe that the muslims wouldn't use nukes against Israel.

Lets be practical about this, no need for obscene and vulgar language.

For many years, Israel has had nuclear weapons, no one uttered a word about them.

Now all of a sudden Israel is in terror just perhaps Iran might have one bomb.

So what has been RIGHT for 30 years for Israel is not right for Iran??????

The Jews ALWAYS present and paint themselves as victims, always. No one else is ever a victim. The Arabs and Iranians have been living under the threat of nuclear weapons from Israel for over a generation but somehow Israel cannot cope with a parity of military weapons.

They better get use to it.

You constantly paint yourself as a victim of the Jews. They did this and they did that. Everything is the fault of the Jews.

You still avoid the question: why is it OK for Israel to have nukes, but not Iran? If Iran should be boycotted and threatened for violating international law and eveloping nuclear weapons, why is Israel exempt?

Just as you avoid the fact that Israel has bombed or invaded just about all of its neighbors over the past 50 years, while Iran has attacked and invaded NOBODY for centuries.

In a perfect world, nobody would have nuclear weapons, including the US. But in an imperfect world, the world is a lot safer with a nuclear armed Iran than a nuclear armed Israel.

Because Israel already has them. Can't change that. The more countries that have them the more unstable the world becomes. Besides Israel has proved they use them only for defense. Iran has threatened other countries such as Israel with annihilation.

Because Israel already has them. Can't change that. The more countries that have them the more unstable the world becomes. Besides Israel has proved they use them only for defense.

When it was revealed that Israel (illegally) developed nuclear weapons, there was no trade or travel embargo against Israel, no sanctions, no threats of military action. So apparently, it was OK for Israel to break international law (once again), but it isn't OK for Iran or any other country in the region to do so.

Iran has threatened other countries such as Israel with annihilation.

Once again, compare track records. Who has Iran attacked in the last century, and what countries Israel has bombed or invaded? Zero versus a half dozen?

Iran could be closer to nuclear weapon: Enriched uranium found at plant, inspectors say

By DOUGLAS FRANTZ Los Angeles Times

Wednesday, August 27, 2003

Istanbul, Turkey -- International inspectors confirmed Tuesday that particles of highly enriched uranium were discovered in two separate samples taken at a nuclear facility in Iran, raising the possibility that Tehran is further along in developing a nuclear weapon than experts had predicted.

The finding is contained in a confidential report from the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria, which provides detailed descriptions of numerous contradictions and misstatements by Iran in recent months. A source outside the agency provided the Los Angeles Times with a copy of the report.

Russia (and U.S.) help Iran build weapons.(nuclear weapons in Iran)

Article from: Insight on the News
Article date: February 20, 1995
Author: Phillips, James

Iran is becoming more of a nuclear threat because of Russian plans to build a nuclear power plant there and other international investment. The US should take steps to prevent this by limiting oil exports from Iran and urging other countries not to cooperate with Iran.

The Jan. 8 announcement that Russia has agreed to build a nuclear power plant in Iran has intensified concern in Washington about Tehran's determined efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. Although there is considerable uncertainty about the size and pace of Iran's nuclear program, the uncovering of Saddam Hussein's covert effort to build an Iraqi nuclear weapon underscores the danger of complacency.

Western intelligence agencies believe that Iran, like Iraq, is using its civilian nuclear program as a cover for acquiring the technology and expertise with which to build nuclear weapons.

Reporter warns that Iran has nuclear weapons now

Article from: Cleveland Jewish News

Cleveland Jewish News

Since the end of the hostage crisis at the American embassy in Tehran in 1979, Americans have put Iran on the back burner, said investigative reporter Kenneth Timmerman.

"Iran is a clear and present danger," he recently commented to a small audience at The City Club. "This regime owes its birth to terrorism. Terrorism is public policy. And Iran has nuclear power."

Although U.S. intelligence agencies speak of Iran as a potential nuclear power, Timmerman said the evidence indicates that Iran already possesses nuclear weapons. Before Iran gives a nuclear weapon to a terrorist group intent on incinerating an American target, the U.S. should be helping democratic factions already in the Islamic nation, the journalist said.

The U.S. intelligence community has recently concluded that Iran is aggressively seeking to develop a nuclear weapon and that China has provided Iran with equipment capable of making some fissile material for such a weapon, according to Bush administration officials.

Not only that but they have said so themselves. Said it is irreversible.

I guess theoretically they have a right to do what they want to do in their country. But when they threaten to wipe Israel off the map with these weapons. Don't be surprised when Israel nukes them out of fear.

I'm not saying it is right or wrong. Just human nature. You have an enemy developing a weapon that can utterly destroy you. A country that has threatened as much.

As a human being I can see Iran thinking the same way.

But Israel has had them for 40 years and hasn't used them. So it seems Iran has a lot less to fear. Nothing to do with Kosher.
