'Nuke From Iran Within This Year'

Iran will have enough enriched uranium to make a single nuclear weapon later this year, the prestigious International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) predicts.

The think tank's Mark Fitzpatrick made the announcement at today's launch of its annual global review of military powers.

"During 2009, Iran will probably reach the point at which it has produced the amount of low-enriched uranium needed to make a nuclear bomb," he said.

"But being able to enrich uranium is not the same as having a nuclear weapon."

However, the survey reports doubts over US Intelligence estimates that Iran halted its work on nuclear weapons six years ago.

This points to Tehran's continued development of long-range ballistic missiles able to reach targets in Israel and beyond.

The IISS recommends a mixture of carrot and stick as the best international response.

It concluded a dual policy of engagement and sanctions, testing possibilities for Iranian cooperation while adopting targeted containment strategies, is the best way to deal with Iran's nuclear programme.

I find it rather odd that Israel rants endlessly about Iran having...a nuclear weapon... while they have 300.

Perhaps endless propaganda and hysteria is a means to some end for Israel???

As to Israel having nukes. Remember that they could obliterate Iran, Syria etc. But they haven't. Do you think the muslims would have the same restraint. You an American wants to nuke them. So I find it hard to believe that the muslims wouldn't use nukes against Israel.

For many years, Israel has had nuclear weapons, no one uttered a word about them.

Now all of a sudden Israel is in terror just perhaps Iran might have one bomb.

So what has been RIGHT for 30 years for Israel is not right for Iran??????

The Jews ALWAYS present and paint themselves as victims, always. No one else is ever a victim. The Arabs and Iranians have been living under the threat of nuclear weapons from Israel for over a generation but somehow Israel cannot cope with a parity of military weapons.

Firstly I remember when the Jews STOLE the nuclear secrets from the US.

Secondly...

I do not speak lightly about nuking anyone, for this reason. More than likely I was in the A-bomb delivery business before Old Friend was born. It was no pleasure being part of a group that was indeed going kill hundreds of thousands of innocents, if the NEED arose.

Having been in that business for a few years, one does come face to face with reality, a reality that says this is all bigger than you or any individual.

For Israel to dance wildly in hysterics because someone MIGHT have a bomb while they have hundreds is obscene and hypocritical.

I suspect you read my first post rather clearly, that is what seems to get under your skin.

More than likely the others in the ME are fully aware that the Israel nukes have ALWAYS been aimed at them. They have lived that way for many years and nothing they could do about it. Now that there might be some measure of parity, all of a sudden Israel and its worshipers go into a catatonic stage.

Now Israel has to ACCEPT that indeed someone might lob one in their direction and it scares them.
