Barack Obama famously doesn't sweat. But according to Sheryl Gay Stolberg's report today in the Times regarding the relaxed dress code in his White House, the new president hasn't made the task of staying dry easy for himself: The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat. “He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

Yeah, by way of Chicago for cryin' out loud.. But I am reminded of something a black guy once told me. He said that in the winter time white peoples houses were kept cool and black folks homes were kept warm..
Well yeah, most of us white folks really can't afford to keep our houses hot enough in the winter to raise orchids in them.
Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end. Warm doesn't do half-justice to the temps some of my darker tenants prefer in just cool weather. 'Grow orchids?' My people could cook chickens.
Good grief! My house is kept cool mostly because I can't afford otherwise, but my mother on the other hand keeps her house really toasty, and I am being nice here..
Having efficientattic.com put the radiant barrier paint on the decking got the electric bill down to forty dollars, but the recent cold-snap popped the natural gas bill from twenty-five up to eighty-seven bones, and that's with the t'stat on 68 degrees as I type.
Surely da brutha will see to it that you get whatever money you need for your gas bill to keep your house warm. After all, he is going to pay for the gas and mortgages for some folks.

I can believe that. I have seen blacks walking around in heavy winter coats with temperatures in the 60s. Most blacks definitely don't do cold.
