I,ve heard we never went back because they were already there. I would still like someone to adequately explain the "Saturn Hexagon" to me. A near perfect hexagon over the north pole of Saturn 25,000 miles in diameter. NASA stopped talking about it.
I wouldn't call it "near perfect". It is highly interesting though. Hexagons are a natural shape in convection, and the thing has the same period as Saturn's radio emissions. Plausibly natural.
