Free speech means that I have a right to express or spew thoughts and words of preference, love, hate, or anything with which another may disagree. That said, the rules or policies of this forum, which is my private property (see this forum's Mission Statement), are that members can exercise free speech as long as they (1) do not make a specific threat against an identifiable person or target, (2) earnestly debate or discuss the relevant issues that are part and parcel of this forum's reason-to-be.

First, I should clarify that Rule #1 includes fellow posters. As you all know, I have a very liberal and tolerant free speech policy here. There is no rule against ad hominems or profanity. However, I have noticed of late a marked increase of both to the point where it's become most unsavory and is setting a tone that, I feel, is beneath us as reasonable and mature adults. Other than the two specified rules to which I expect adherance, no one's speech is constrained, so I'm requesting that you please employ self restraint.

I am fair to Christine not with abuse, but with a refusal to pander to her. I consider her a friend, and I tell friends when I disagree with them or where I see hypocrisy in regards to their actions or lack thereof.

She is free to take issue with me or agree, I will listen. I refuse to be a blind Rotara with a confirmed thirst for the blood of those disagreeing with him, and who is obviously in the middle of having a bad Charlie Manson complex.

If she takes issue with me, I always listen. My point is, not enough people take the time to listen to others, or respect the process of dialog or discussion in here.

Heh, I really like Dr. Paul and he would be an exceptional POTUS. I have always always always stated very plainly stainly one, that I do not agree with many of his proposals.

I respect his leadership ability, common sense approach to things and he would be better at healing the rifts that divide us as a people, so I was right to support him in the primaries.

You wanting to twist my words and wanting to paint me as dishonest and a poser is your problem, not mine.

I really lie and respect Ron Paul, and it is your problem you don't see that nor understand why I do, not mine.

Actually, I am quite consistent. I say nothing here I have not always said in regards to Ron Paul.

You see, my words are belief based, yours' here are spin meant to denigrate me and to try to assassinate my character.

I really admired William O. Douglas, Wayne Morse, Ron Paul and others for the same thing, the passions they have or had to defend their beliefs and because of their deep personal integrity.

Well, you differ in opinion about Barack Obama then I, so I do not share your sense of there being cognitive dissonance to how I ultimately decide whom to vote for in the general election.

There was pragmatism to both my support of Dr. Paul and the eventual winner of this election. either man is a perfect fit for my belief system, but I have come to terms with that.

I am glad Ron Paul is doing what he is doing. But I am and always have been pro amnesty for illegal immigrants, and other things he likes, I don't.

And I never made that a secret. Thus this contrivance of an alleged deceit by me for my willingness to take the leap of faith to support Ron Paul in the primaries holds no water.

I would never support a Chuck Baldwin, for POTUS, but any man or woman of deep integrity and personal courage and leadership ability is what I first look for when deciding on someone, not their ideology.

And yes, I know that in your world that sounds irrational, but it works in mine.

They are true. And I have lost my job in the woods here in Oregon to the influx of Hispanic workers. I am concerned with the problem and issue, but I refuse to ever forget those involved on both sides of the issue are human beings, and that they are here because of the same motivators all human beings are subject to involving concern for food, shelter and other necessities, and a desire for a future for their kids.

I believe an amnesty can be crafted that satisfies all parties to the point resolution can be achieved.

You are welcome to disagree and I respect your view on this, especially as you have the futures of your boys to think about. But a repressive pogrom to root all of the alleged violators would not only not solve the problem, but it would damage want little standing we have internationally in the wake of Bush, and would run contrary to our spirit of value for human rights.

I don't want amnesty to be without an acceptance of responsibility or requirements, but I don't believe in a fascistic use of force done without mercy, to teach a lesson in a way that damages out Constitution further then it has been the past eight years.
